Well, Marai did land her triple Axel after puberty. How many times? 2 maybe. I would not consider landing a jump a few times the same as "having" the jump. And Tuktamysheva did not lose her 3A after puberty.....but did we ever see her land one pre-puberty?

The Quads.....probably too early to tell what will happen.
From NBC Sports
"Last season, according to skatingscores.com, three women – Trusova, compatriot Anna Shcherbakova and Kazakh Elizabet Tursynbaeva went clean on eight of an aggregate 19 quad attempts. "

That is less than 50%. And all three of those ladies seem to have retained their pre-pubescent figures.

Eteri is great at teaching those tiny things to jump, rotate, and land.

It will be a while until we see ho can hold on to what with boobs and hips.
Smh Mirai probably did 10 a day in practice all year, even if she wasnt so consistent in competitions.

Interview with Pluschenko

He says that it was Trusova’s decision - she and her parents called him themselves, he didn’t persuade anyone. This change actually happened a while ago, but they still need to fill official documents and send papers to the Russian Fed. He wants Trusova to become an all-around skater with great technique, spins, step sequences and charisma, they plan to invite several Russian and foreign choreographers and specialists to work with her. Now there are two main groups in his school: Plushenko, Rozanov, Mikhailov (former ice-dancer, who has been in Plushenko’s team for some time already) and Aleksandr Volkov’s group.
He promises more sensations and big news this off-season..

Yup. Charisma. Nothing mentioned about skating skills or posture or maturity.

Wow. It's a savage culture.

Many Russians do learn to be ordinary businessmen, of course, but... it doesn't mean, that all the soviet people or ideas are already replaced by something new.
"Business relationship"?
Plushenko and his mom lived in Mishin's flat and (as Mishin says) the husband of Mishin's sister was bringing food for them.
Even Yagudin after leaving Mishin was saying, that Mishin had been like father for him (not only for Plushenko).
Yagudin still says that Tarasova is like his second mom. She was not only his coach indeed. An she not only cooked for him.

As for Tutberidze... I'm just not going to judge her. Yet I guess even now Russian coaches feel that our country has a right to ask: "Where are our strong skaters?" - and a coach has to answer. I think it is still not that "business relationship" when a coach just has a client and the best answer for any questions from other people is: "It is none of your business".

Russians learn to be businessmen, but I don't want people of my country to turn into wild people who answer: "I can do nothing for you, if you have no money to pay" or "My working day is over. Goodbye." Into wild people who say: "Bolivar cannot carry double". I'm grateful, that people of my country are ready to work at nights or to do more than they can. For me etiquette isn't more important than this part of our culture. I feel we need to save it somehow.

I mean coaches can be wrong, but it is not the only side of those relations which are not just "business relationship".

I’m imagining a musical with the Med/Eteri split closing Act I. A huge dramatic fight with Med leaving off stage and Eteri softly singing “Where Have All the Flowers Gone” with a Katarina Witt style dance break. Then Act II will close with something more akin to “Rose’s Turn”. Oh and Act II should open with Eteri singing “What Would Brian Boitano Do?” Upon hearing the news that Med went to Orser.

Sorry for repeating the “Where Have All the Flowers Gone” joke, but it fits too well. Thinking about it, we don’t even need to write new songs. Rent already has a song called “Today for You, Tomorrow for Me” that references an Akita named “Evita” for Alina’s late Act I showstopper where she passes Med, the dominant character in Act I, up. Imagine it... “Gold for Me, Silver for You”.

Hanca - I was really only addressing Quads. Elizabeta from Kasikstan landed one in competition..........and she is teeny, tiny. And of course, Alyssa landed one - though it was under-rotated.

Interesting Video about Quads in Ladies FS

I actually watched Sasha Cohen land a quad at her rink during a practice.

With the exception of Miki Ando & I don't see too many full bodied

Charisma may not be in her wheelhouse.

Full bodied - do you mean fully rotated quads or full bodied skaters?
Are you watching Russian junior competitions? There is a few quads among the juniors. But if you expect fully bodied skater, there is not many around with or without quads.

I am pretty sure - full - полный, body - тело. Gedevanshvily for example, even had a hard time rotating and landing some 3X....when her body turned "motherly and plump"...

Quads - several coaches in Russia, including Eteri, even have few novices and pre-novices who can do quads or working on them. (do you need their names? may take a bit to locate them all).

LOL! Read it more carefully..he mentioned everything... I remember you don't like him as a skater but you don't think he is stupid, and doesn't understand the FS at all..

Remember how he lost in 2010 Olympics?

It’s really interesting to look at the protocols for 2010. The difference between Plushenko and Lysaceck was 1.81 points in TES thanks to Lysaceck receiving 9.64 points in GOE added to his 74.93 base value compared to Plushenko’s 7.68 points in GOE added to his 75.03 base value. Plushenko had a 0.55 lead after the SP so that 1.81 was 1.26 more than Lysaceck needed. Man so many things could have tipped things the other way. Matching the amount of jumps in the second half that Lysaceck had may or may not have done it depending on which jumps he would switch in the second half AND if he could have done say a 3A and/or a 3A combo in the second half without falling. It seemed he had to do more even with the quad because of the judges’ GOE score. Or if Plushenko competed at a time where the quad was worth more.

I was in the arena in the front row at the end of the rink opposite the K&C. IMO Plushenko was held up big time - in everything - GOE and PCS. He was a shadow of his former self. Painfully slow spins, and choreo that I found actually embarrassing. Takahashi more than anyone was the one who was robbed.

Oh I agree. It’s just I was thinking about what Plushenko could have done outside of my personal feelings about it and with the judges’ scores since his intelligence was questioned. I call that watching skating - IJS style. It helps to put my personal enjoyment and how the judges should have scored out of the equation...unfortunately.

Totally agree. I had the same impression.

Pluschenko omitted his 3 jump combination. If he'd been able to successfully tack on a 2t or 2l to one of his combos, he probably would have won.

He is the first skater I recall ever doing a 3 jump combo, so that was rather sad for him.

Oh of course. I kind of got off track there. Regardless of the judging he didn't work the system well.

If he'd done a 3 jump combo I guess he would have won and that would have been a travesty.

Exactly: not just simply 3 jump combo but 4-3-2 and 4-3-3.

I just found this video https://twitter.com/kudryavkaaa/status/1260132939876102144 4S,3Lo+3Lo+3Lo,4T+3Lo+3Lo

this is the the translate

Thanks. This translation mentioned skating skills, much to my relief. Let's see what kind of choreography and style she will show next season. Look at how Mishin strips Tuktamysheva's programs of their choreography - I am hoping Plushenko wouldn't do the same just to ensure she would land her jumps.

Shakespeare is trembling in his grave with regret that he will never get to tell the story of the Angels of Plushchenko/Tutberidze saga. Maybe he will be re-incarnated into some new infant that will grow to write some beautiful monologues on this topic in 30-40 years, or if particularly prodigious, we can hope that we only have to wait twenty or so.

I volunteer to do that :D
