195.28 / 130.90 are new ISU personal bests!
191.26 / 126.57 were her previous PBs when she won the silver at 2022 Skate Canada.

Starr should beat Kim given the missed combo (supposed to be 3Lz+3T) and the very underrotated 3F.

Kim's technical score on the tracker was behind Starr's by a little bit before the reviews.

Much stronger skate for Chaeyeon than we've seen lately, but still the jumps are small, and there were at least a few under-rotations.

120.94 = 2nd Place
188.22 = 2nd Place

I might make a comment like this skater is a fridge break or rather do crosswords if the program was just boring, but well skated. But to say that when the skater is struggling with the jumps, it just feels like kicking someone when they're already down. Or if it was said differently--it sounded like an attack on her rather than the program.

Maybe they're over it in the commentating booth. I thought last night with the men they were giving credit for people who would even just get out there and try. Maybe that was Tara or I made it up.

I thought the fridge break comment from Dick Button was mean and I add the crossword puzzle comment from Johnny Weir as unnecessarily mean too.

Starr was so good! Kim should definitely fall behind her, especially if the panel reviews her jumps properly.

Kim has no relationship to this music at all. I want to see her skating to whatever’s inside her head. Also just a lot of the same arm movement, no matter what her feet are doing. She’s a pretty skater, but it’s late on a skating weekend and hard to keep my attention.

Chaeyeon has been boxed into the generic, pretty Korean ladiezzzz box this season and it's doing her no favors.

Starr looks so different here. The jumps have no hesitation and the rotation is faster. I like that she is skating what she can do cleanly.

I'm reminded of the time I showed a friend a skating programme, and she couldn't engage with it at all, she was so distracted by how weird she thought it was that these young women were all skating around with their barely-covered asses waving in the air at everyone. And it was so awkward, because I'm so desensitised to it, I was just trying to explain that in context, it was usual, and not sexualised, and... and... I gave up, at this point and slunk away.

Anyway, I think if she wants to wear granny pants, it's fine.

Gubanova’s dress is absolutely stunning from the front and sides. I see what they’ve done on the back, but it’s not very satisfying if she isn’t standing still.

This is what Kim lacked. You see she’s doing a program with tenderness and it’s reflected on her face and in her gestures. Helps if you’ve seen the movie, of course.
