2025 Skate America Mens Short - Quadless in Lake Placid

it's no Moonlight Sonata/Take on Me mashup, but I will take an emo In the Air Tonight/bar band rocker :cheer2:

holy cats that one spin that almost came to a standstill
IDC he's fun even if it's not always for the right reasons

PCS under Grassl!! Rude.

Mikhail did his thing, good for him. I feel like the program is very Ilia like. That said, if Ilia makes a mistake under the huge pressure he is in. Mikhail can have surprising results.
I can't stop thinking about the idea that if Ilia implodes in Milano the one who could be the gold medal winner is Shaidorov
Nope. The judges aren't buying what Shaidorov is selling this season. And his FS is an absolutely terrible program.

I feel like Shaidorov is getting low-balled this season, pretty evidently.
I am not a big fan of his programs this year, or Righini's outbreaks on social media, but I do have questions about judging
I agree. He's been really low-balled at both of his GPs. I don't get it, even acknowledging his weaker spins, step sequence & components, he should have cracked 90 today easily.

I was looking at tomorrow's program tiles, something is off...the ice dancers are doing their RD at 2 Pm and the FD at 2:12 pm. Tomorrow.

I am sure they will fix it to change to Sunday for the FD but it was just funny to me.

Urmanov barely holding back his contempt at the score. Welp!!! Help that kid with his spins and artistry. 🤷‍♂️
Yes, it was evident Urmanov wasn't pleased but, somehow, I have a feeling that this is as animated as he ever gets when annoyed. He seems like such a calm teddy bear. I always was such a fan. Missed my only chance to see him skate live when he had to withdraw from a GP event (perhaps the GPF) in Saint John, NB many years ago. BUT ... on the other hand .... I did have a close encounter with him when he was coaching at Skate Canada in Mississauga years later when I rushed out of the ladies' room and ran smack into someone .... it was like BANG! I looked up (way up 'cause I'm really short) and it was Alexei Urmanov who asked if I was OK? I almost fainted! So, it all worked out. :swoon:

The tech panel has been much more strict this year than they have been in long, long, long time and across all disciplines.

(But then, of course, you get the weird errors like on Sui/Han's lift... :shuffle: )

Shaidorov also was very lucky at Worlds that other guys didn't skate up to their potential, like Yuma.

the ice dancers are doing their RD at 2 Pm Tomorrow.
Which is 3pm for me. Saturdays are "brunch day" for me where my son and grandson come over for a few hours. I told my son earlier this week to "not take this personally but, by 2:45pm, you and Daysen have to be GONE!" He just roared with laughter and assured me it wouldn't be a problem. He knows full well what a skating junkie his Mom is. ❤️

I believe he would had shared it in one of the interviews if he wanted people to know
For all I know he could have shared it in an interview - I don't listen to skater interviews, nor do I follow any skater's social media posts. The answer to my question could be common knowledge to those who do. Sorry if this moment of curiosity on my part hit a nerve.

I went back and looked at Jason's 3A, and I cannot tell why it got downgraded. I could barely perceive any under-rotation. I'm not questing the judges, I'm just too green to recognize why it was downgraded. Can anyone explain it to me? I realize it's hard to explain via text and not narrating a slow-mo video.
