I'm glad Kevin skated well, but this SP is just so meh compared to some of his previous SPs.

I like the first half. The Gaga part is an exhibition. A mid exhibition.

I don't know that I'd go as far as saying it's mid, but I felt the opening section was really beautiful in a way the second just didn't capture.

Someone needs to teach Shaidarov to spin as well as he jumps. Heck, let’s say 3/4 as well? The spins are underwhelming. But a good skate, nonetheless. I’m picking nits, not sh*tting on a decent skate with great energy.

Mikhail did his thing, good for him. I feel like the program is very Ilia like. That said, if Ilia makes a mistake under the huge pressure he is in. Mikhail can have surprising results.

Well, that was pretty good for Shaidorov. He still has plenty of work to do on his presentation and he's giving away points with lower levels on his spins & step seq. I'm guessing he'll slot in between Kazuki & Kevin.

A q on quad lutz ... boo. I think Mikhail is the real deal. On any given night, even with the Japanese brilliance and, of course, Ilia, he can still skate with the best of him. Well done, Mikhail.
