Another good technical skate, and Chaeyeon's performance level matched the music as the program, and the music built in intensity.

The lady calling is doing a good job, waaaay better than that lady who used to do the call all the american events in the USA and smashed any name and sound like she was drunk or something

I’m specifically asking because I had thought the emphasis on Anastasia in Russian was different.

Well, the women seem to have cleansed the ice.

I’m surprised that I don’t seem to tire of Promise. It’s so listenable, like breathing, and Alysa moves to it so well. And Lara continues to hold me with her ability to accent music that’s about as far from breathing as you can get. Bring on da Shark!

All right y'all, short break before men. Time to start drinkin' before the men start, and we will need to be drinking when the second group hits the ice 🍷
I was thinking I needed to get the wine out of the fridge before the men's FS starts... :shuffle:

Why give Gubanova an Indian music program and, other than some broken-wrist motions, have her completely ignore the fact?
That was the worst catch-foot position that I’ve seen in ages, especially after Alysa’s.
Oh, I'll take this music over MR or My Way any day, whether she connects to it or not.

Gubanova fitting every SE Asian cliche into one program is kind of an accomplishment. She clearly loves it. Do you think she and Britschgi have sekret conversations about what culture they're going to almost-appropriate next. I mean, I'm into it. This program is dreadful, and I'm here for it, especially the first part.
The bindi is a touch too far even for me.

From a technical perspective I can see Starr making a successful transition to pairs, but I’m stumped on coming up with a pairs boy who can compliment her vibe.
Yeah, I was really enjoying her SP and then immediately though who’s going to be a cool enough pairs partners to not become a mediocre pair performance/choreography wise. but from a jump content perspective of course it makes sense to switch to pairs.

Just watched the women, and not a bad event.

Liu was really special, such emotion and good tech despite the loop being short.

Watanabe's 3A was great and love her fire. Want her to bring this consistency in the free.

Higuchi magical despite her injury. I'll miss her immensely after this season.
:wuzrobbed

Gutmann very nice, I prefer this to her quirky FS. 3t/3t was excellent and steps complex but brought charm to them.

Kim had one of her strongest skates since her World medal a few seasons ago. Shame about the rotation issues.

Andrew's has always been a great performer, but she's become so much more polished in the last two seasons. That will serve her well in her transition to pairs. Most gorgeous dress of all the women here, just stunning.
