Imagine how much propaganda will be by Nationals and even more by Olympics. Apparently an NBC camera crew followed them everywhere

Definitely better. Enough to win in Milan? Still dubious. But they’ve overcome the doubters before. Given the other teams’ FDs, the only team they can lose to is FB/C.

This was a good comp for Bek/Hern, the Browns and both French teams. Car/Pon, I’m not sure what they can do at this point.

I'm happy to see Marjorie and Zach with a solid competition despite low levels here. They were great in both program and looked so relieved in the kiss and cry!

I'm sad for Christina and Anthony who looked so sad in both their kiss and crys (definitely confused in the RD one.)

The Browns had the performance of the night for me. Glad to see C/B and L/L looking stronger than at their first GP’s.

Eh I like Chock and Bates' program. I think it's their best FD of the quad by far.

My feeling is Madison is a beautiful woman, she has an amazing body, and I am pretty sure she can dance like nobody's business.
But that doesn't always translate to an amazing ice dancer. She slays because she can and she has always been a star even back in the day when she skated with Zuerlein. Evan is a solid skater but he will never be able to shine because she is the star.

127 is not a winning score. Especially here at SA where they are being hyped to infinity. I swear the Olympics are going to be epic in ice dance.

No, just compare the initial calls to the protocols after the event, and note the differences.

C&B I definitely see the improvement!! The picture is becoming clearer. The shorter skirt is a 100% better. I still want more….more intensity and some more really wow moves and lifts. They always get it together as the season progresses. Love them and unlike others I will miss them when they retire.

Pretty shocking results for Car/Pom at home! I honestly expected them to be better than they were at Worlds this season since it is an Olympic season. But they look kind of ragged and not well trained…a bit sloppy even. Maybe because they have changed the program or maybe injury? I hope they figure it out stat.

Chock and Bates ran out of gas about 2/3rds of the way through. Better than China, but it’s not making me sit up and take notice yet.

Confused on how her twizzle was level 4 when there was a clear check/loss of balance from her on the third one.

Not surprised to hear Evan isn’t feeling well. The way they turned away from the judges when it finished made me feel like something was up. She seemed like she was trying to make sure he was ok in the kiss and cry.

Not yet - depends on where ZingKol finish next week - 3rd place moves them into a points tie with LajLag and ReedAmbru for the final 2 GPF spots (presuming GilPoir and FBCiz go 1-2 in some order). But, I fully expect the tech panels and judges to do their best to ensure that ZingKol are off the podium at Finlandia. There won't be 2 US teams in the GPF.

Yeah but that's my point. 127 might be a SB for them but we all know that scores in the mid 130s or higher will be the winning scores. I am just saying that they were hyped like all get out here at SA because they are team USA yet they didn't get any bias bump (I know, it's international judges). It's crazy to me how ice dance scores keep climbing up the mountain. To think that D/W won the Olympics with a 116 back in 2014. I remember when ice dancers tried their hardest to break 100. I also think in the back of my mind, I keep remembering that F-B/C got a 133 their first skate together.

But honestly, this whole event felt cursed. No one felt that great it seemed. Hope Finlandia is better.

As it stands now and as it is presented both visually and physically I don't see this C/B FD making the kind of impact with an Olympic audience the way Moulin Rouge did for V/M in 2018 to propel them to a gold medal over Cizeron/partner. Now Grand Prix Moulin Rouge was not the same as Olympic Moulin Rouge so we have months to go.

But my gut feeling right now is that this FD is in a battle for a lower medal. Not a gold medal. It doesn't spellbind me with beaut the way the Whale does, charm me in the way Vincent can or excite me the way Moulin Rouge did.

There is still a lot of work to do there. And while her current costume isn't ridiculous like the first one we saw it's just a whole lot of black. Which usually works with a modern take on something but it isn't working here because the program itself feels a bit confused. I think she at least needs to add some red to the inside of her skirt because the majority of the Olympic viewing audience isn't going to get that he is a bull and she is a matador as skated today.

Actually, it's amazing when a skater isn't sick given they fly with germs everywhere, are hot then cold, and it's winter. But, they are resilient. I've seen skaters who looked like death warmed over come out and crush it. One Russian nationals Scherbakova was running a fever and her team wanted to pull her from the event. She said no and won with a flawless program. Maybe virus loads help them skate or something.

I’m not ready to see an anti-American conspiracy because CarPon got dumped. Z/K did fine and Gre/Par decently at their GPs(not counting CoC where Michael was injured.) Igor knows just what he’s up against in Davis/Smolken and he can politic with the best of them. D/S is just about tied with Z/K for season’s best, but the Georgians got home cooking at Trialeti.

I did hear Zach mention his back hurts while they were waiting for the press conference to start and were taking pictures. Which confirms some practice reports that he looked like he had a back issue ( was rubbing his back ).

So on that note they did a really great job considering his back was bothering him so to him for that. Hope it isn't serious.

And last season everyone was complaining about ZingKol's awful programs while raving about CarPon's. My point is that seasonal supremacy is going to be reliant on each team's material. ZingKol have the better FD this year (all the RDs pretty much suck).

Most people liked ZingKols FD last season. I think you were in the minority with your feelings on it.
