Ubering juniors against my will

The even bigger question is how long Anna's technique will hold up. Personally, I hope it will last her at least one more season. But we can only wait and see.

And that is why I said that surprisingly I think she is the one in danger. At Worlds, Anna's quads weren't working. Imagine at next year's RusNats and Daria and Maiia land numerous ultra-c, and Trusova landed just enough quads to overscore everyone. Anna is OUT. So please don't say "ridiculous". Ice is slippery. That's ridiculous, Anna is World Champion and the top skater in the World right now.
Sasha is the one in danger, she's got the "wrong" coach and has to do free skates twice as hard as Anna and Kamila to even have a chance at beating them.
One that was severely pre-rotated. If the ISU should decide to crack down on pre-rotations, she's toast. She did land a quad flip at the WTT, albeit with a step-out.
In one of her recent interviews she told that she had been in the worst shape physically before this main start of the season. At WTT she already jumped quads during warm-up and did one with step-out in the program. This is yet to be confirmed, but it seems that she landed a quad yesterday in Tashkent after the show.At Worlds, Anna's quads weren't working.
Has the ISU showed any inclination to do thatOne that was severely pre-rotated. If the ISU should decide to crack down on pre-rotations, she's toast.
I don't see them leaving out the three time national champion and the current world champion. Anna has shown again and again what a tough competitor she is. I think Anna's spot on the Olympics is safe. Others will have to fight for the remaining two spots. Right now those will be Valieva, Tuk, Trusova and possibly Kostornaia if she gets the 3A back.My prediction for the Olympic team is Valieva, Trusova, and Shcherbakova. The most vulnerable to be displaced in my opinion is Shcherbakova. Valieva is superhuman practically. Trusova just has to hit and be clean and she'd dominate the field like Nathan Chen. She hasn't yet been clean, but Sarah Hughes never landed a clean two 3/3 program before or after that sole Olympic performance. Sasha is always a threat for the gold medal. Anna would seem to be the shoe-in, being world champ and 3time national champ. But her technique is hanging on by a thread, and if she has a competition at Nationals like Worlds this year where her quads are MIA, she could be the vulnerable one.
As for the Russian national team, I'm sure they will take a spot from the men and make 7 spots for the ladies: Valieva, Shcherbakova, Trusova, Tukt, Usacheva, Khromykh, and Kostornaia.
Or if the ISU returns to launch the proposed rule to penalize blade assist takeoff on toe jumps. One that was severely pre-rotated. If the ISU should decide to crack down on pre-rotations, she's toast.
It's all very interesting watching this period of ladies skating unfold and for us to see how long that level of quad jumping can be sustained by each athlete. I know that a lot of people are expecting Valieva for the win .. in keeping with the tradition of the younger ones beating the older... but it will be interesting to see what actually transpires.
Nikita Mikhailov will choreograph her SP again for the 2021-22 season (music not yet chosen).Tuktamysheva knows what she has to do in order to be competitive and she is ready to get started, particularly on the quad toe loop.
“I think I have to balance out the quad toe and the triple Axel in the Free Skating so that I have one quad,” she said. “I am doing it, but it is not yet that consistent. I want to work on it for the upcoming season so that it is practically as consistent as my triple Axel.”
The skater also wants to try the quad Lutz. “This is my dream,” she revealed. “Many people are telling me that I am capable of doing it, but I have trouble believing that it is possible. I want to do it, just to prove to myself that it is possible. I think I’ll have a chance to make it to the Games with a quad. The level is very high now and it would be harder (to qualify) with just two triple Axels.”

She does it with half of her blade on the ice. Trusova is on the toe pick at least.LOL. "Severely". She does about 180, same as Sasha Trusova. And ISU is not interested in this topic. I love how you keep talking about it is "pre-rotation" all while ignoring her air position, smooth landings with great flow and hard transitions in and out of jumps.
She is still on her toepick; her blade is not on the ice. Trusova is about the same actually... But it doesn't really matter TBH ...She does it with half of her blade on the ice. Trusova is on the toe pick at least.
If the jump's short, it's short, and it's wrong for the ISU to dock skaters for cheating landings while ignoring cheated takeoffs. Fair is fair.LOL. "Severely". No way! I like more than just three of the Russian ladies, I would feel awful being in any way responsible for keeping someone off the team!I have a perfect idea. FSU should be put in charge of all selections for all events. I think we would do a great job![]()
Otherwise, we could hire Madeline Kahn's character from History Of The World, Part 1.No way! I like more than just three of the Russian ladies, I would feel awful being in any way responsible for keeping someone off the team!
It's called Russian Nationals. All kidding aside. There is so much depth in Russia, they could hold their own world championships in ladies and pairs.

A season full of national competitions allowed her the opportunity to draw unlikely support from rivals like Shcherbakova, with whom she led Russia to a maiden victory at the World Team Trophy earlier this month in which Tuktamysheva was team captain.
“We’ve started to be more like friends,” Tuktamysheva said. “She’s a really cute and nice girl, and I feel comfortable with her. At competitions where her parents couldn’t be with her, I tried to keep her company.”
Seven years Shcherbakova’s senior, Tuktamysheva doesn’t envy the uniquely competitive atmosphere encouraged at the Sambo 70 club, led by coach Eteri Tutberidze and home to a bourgeoning next generation of Olympic-eligible talent like junior world gold and silver medalists Kamila Valiyeva and Daria Usacheva.
“I didn’t feel nearly the same amount of pressure at their age as I’m sure they feel now,” says Tuktamysheva. “It was a different time in figure skating; the level wasn’t as high, and so it was easier for me to feel confident about my place in the sport.
“At the same time, I was such a crazy girl growing up, and no one could stop me or tell me anything! I just led with my mind.”
LOL. Takeoffs and landings are two sides of the same coin. Always have been.Just because some fans decided pre-rotation beyond a certain degree (i.e. 45 degrees or something equally extreme) is "Cheating" doesn't make it so. I won't engage though because this is a freaking tired topic. But if you are going to call something "cheated", at least it should be factual...not your opinion. And even if ISU decided to considered Anna's quads cheated, they would consider a bunch of skaters' triples cheated, so... Like I said, tired topic, won't engage further.

Yea, you said you were done before but I guess not. Pre-rotation of about a quarter turn is required for edge jumps, but is not good technique for vaulting jumps (toe loop, flip and lutz). It's cheating, plain and simple. "Some fans" didn't decide this - skaters know this.Pre-rotation is a feature of pretty much any cleanly executed jump; always has been.. whereas underrotation is not. It's not disallowed, and it's not cheating (unless it's egregious, but that is not defined). Just because some fans decided anything over over 45 degrees (or whatever) is cheating doesn't mean that it is. That's all I'm going to say on this topic.
Good idea.I am gonna put you on ignore because otherwise I will be tempted to respond to this nonsense
