Russia really has a inferiority complex they always have to blame someone else when they get caught cheating or get their asses handed to them fair and square in sports or anything for that ma
Sorry I don't know how to post a tweet link but today Johnny Weir (we all know how pro-Russian he is) tweeted about his heartbreak for figure skating over the Valieva-drug issue. He also stated he waited for the facts to come out before tweeting. If you are on twitter you can look up his statement.
There is nothing fair and square about the treatment of Valieva at these Olympics. It's a pity the American commentators, with the exception of Terry Gannon, couldn't spare an iota of "heartbreak" for Valieva herself. I find it incredibly inhuman that armed with a tiny number of facts that mere media idols, who have not, themselves, had any real claim to fame for decades, feel completely at home with destroying an athlete who clearly has demonstrated complete commitment to her art. So quick to jump on the popular bandwagon are they. I frankly have spent the afternoon fantasizing wrapping my fingers around Weirs scrawny, pathetic, attention-mongering throat. Tara has been moderately more humane, but not by much.
I'm sure this is probably not the correct forum to express my utter disgust with America's official position on this issue. I spent quite a bit of time trying to find a place to write about this and finally just had to go with it. If anyone has a redirect for me, I'm happy to hear it. Thanks.
