The Devastating True Story of the Romanov Family's Execution
The slaughter of the family and servants, which took place 100 years ago, was one of the seminal events of the 20th century.www.townandcountrymag.com
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear to be planning a wide-ranging non-profit empire, including websites, films and their own awards, according to trademark applications lodged in the US under the name of Archewell....
Archewell, derived from the Greek word arche, meaning “sources of action”, was the inspiration for the name of their son, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, the couple have revealed. It replaces the Sussex Royal brand they had originally trademarked in the UK, but were banned from using by Buckingham Palace.
Reaction:Queen Elizabeth II will address the nation at 8pm on Sunday - only the 4th time she has done so during times of national crisis and grief:
Queen to address the country on Sunday
The world's interest in other things these weeks seem to me to have been beneficial to lessen the overexposure of the Sussex family. I am only speaking for myself but I hope they hold off on websites, films - whatever - and stay lower key until ********* 19 is more managed and the world is ready for something new.

Well, just so we are straight on this - I am not blaming M&H for the tremendous exposure they receive and I was not referencing anything they have done. It just seems to me that as they now wish to go forward with their own initiatives and put some of all this ballyhoo over reducing their royal duties behind them - having the media otherwise occupied for a period of time currently seems like a positive for them to me.But that's their plan if you read what they've said. If you are referencing the Disney film, Meghan did the voiceover narration for Elephant last fall, and she has no control over when or how Disney released the documentary.
In fact, the continued unrequited thirst and non-stop over-interest in the Sussexes by British tabloids, royal reporters, and some members of the public is why M&H made the announcement/ confirmation of the charitable organization name they filed applications for in March. The Daily Telegraph had nosed around and discovered the Sussex trademarks applications, so M&H were forced (once again) to make a statement in order to stay ahead of tabloid leaks and misrepresentation. The same happened to M&H when Trump recently tweeted idiotically about their security arrangements. The same happened in January when Harry was told to give Charles something in writing about their desired plans, and details of what Harry wrote were immediately leaked to The Sun.
Of course, the Sussexes continue to be blamed for everything, including for existing and breathing.
Meanwhile, I have to laugh about the fact that the Sussexes clearly have done a lot right that in general they both, and especially Meghan, are always criticized for. But yet, M&H's ideas and approaches to doing work are often copied and/or found to be inspirational. Now, since their departure from senior royal public duties, the Queen has snapped up M&H's former communications officer, Sarah Latham. And it's being reported that the Cambridges have quickly hired/ co-opted M&H's young, former digital communications lead, David Watkins, who worked closely with Meghan on crafting the Sussexes' former record-breaking Instagram account:

When Sara Latham was hired by M&H, and throughout Latham's tenure with them, the British media and royal reporters overly criticized and belittled Latham. As soon as the Queen hired Latham, the British media and RRs began singing Latham's praises to the high heavens. All along Latham has been a superb, experienced communications professional having previously worked in top positions for President Obama, and for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. In addition, Latham is a dual U.S./U.K. citizen who has served legislators in the British government with her highly regarded expertise. And obviously, David Watkins was a smart hire by the Sussexes, who became available to be grabbed by the Cambridges after the Sussexes closed their Instagram circa March 31, having been told they can no longer use the word 'royal.'

@Parsley Sage What a fabulous photo of Charles and Camilla. The dogs are so cute!
So I have started a new thread for Harry & Meghan. They have moved on from royalty and there is bound to be a ton of discussion once they get going with their new foundation so a dedicated thread seems appropriate.
As far as I know; Meghan and Harry are simply not using their titles at the moment.Just because he's not using it, Harry was born a prince & nothing will wipe that out or make people forget it.

Nothing has been taken away from them.
IMO, the idea of a dedicated thread, seems better than the way they were being treated in this one.
So any news about Princess Anne's children/grandchildren won't go in this thread either? Or Edward's kids? Just because he's not using it, Harry was born a prince & nothing will wipe that out or make people forget it. I have no interest in your petty thread.
Do you think the sniping will stop? And I still say the motive behind that thread was petty. Other family members don't use their title & no one makes a thread to talk about them.
Lots of people talked about in this thread aren't full-time working royals. ?Anne and Edward are full time working royals. Harry and Meghan are not.
Lots of people talked about in this thread aren't full-time working royals. ?Also, it is not accurate to say that Harry & Meghan aren't royals. Harry didn't abdicate so he's still royal.
If someone thinks Harry & Meghan deserve their own thread and starts one, I think that's fine. Whether or not people want to post in it is another issue. I suspect it will be like a lot of instances where there is a separate thread and a general thread -- for some things, they will be talked about in both places and it will be confusing.
