I think based on the information that we have so far, Kostomarov will have a long road to recover some quality of live, but I don't know that he can ever really be healthy again given the severity of his illness.

It is devastating news. I pray that Roman fully recovers, and is given all of the physical and mental health therapy that he may require to help him adjust to such life changing injuries due to such a severe illness.

To say the truth, I do read those articles (maybe I hope that Roman should get better). Yet as for reposting the “info” from those articles, I think it is better not to repost it (at least). Roman’s family has said once again that they are not going to share the info about Roman’s health now. This time it was said by Roman’s mom. So it means those crazy journalists keep disturbing even Roman’s mom.

Post edited. To reply to Rina RUS here below, as a health worker, I know one thing or two about severe medical conditions. I do not panic. All this is extremely rare and unfortunate so one has logical ground to wonder where it came from. And if any further conversation about Kostomarov's condition is now prohibited due to privacy, then admins should probably close this thread. It won't keep media from issuing news and people from discussing them on other boards and social networks though.

I think it is better not to panic.
They say he got worse at night, but till morning February 15 the doctors managed to stabilize the patient's condition. (It is said that a surgery is a stressful situation for an organism, so the condition could get worse after it.)

Maybe it is also odd to say that he got much worse, because he hadn’t got much better yet.

It is said the information about Roman is kept secretly in the hospital. I guess not extremely secretly, but it is said not every doctor can see it.
I think Roman’s family has a right to do so. As far as I know the word “privacy” exists in English for such cases.

When I think about Roman, I notice that I want these days to go faster for him, so that he already could feel better. Maybe we should have patience.

Of course, I can’t prohibit talking. I just see that some headlines of articles are even nasty. I also think it is not OK that those journalists disturb even Roman’s mother (in her age and in this situation).
I also see that maybe it is too soon to say that the doctors managed to stabilize his condition…
I understand that he is in a severe condition.
Maybe I think that in this situation we only can hope for the best and/or pray for this family for so long as Roman is alive and has a chance to get better.

I think it is possible to talk, but maybe it’s better to be careful and not to fill the thread with dark thoughts.

I looked at the links that were linked here and to me it looks as if the media page articles are a bit on the sensationalist/tabloidish side, so even if the information is mostly correct, I can see why it makes Rina RUS uneasy.

When I clicked on one article (in Google Translate), I saw that the articles always link to others on the same topic and it seems like they publish several ones per day and that really is not necessary in normal journalism about something like that IMO.

Well, you could see an example in this very thread. First those journalists write that something was amputated (and repost such “news” in many articles). Later they realize that they don’t know for sure what exactly was amputated. They start asking Roman’s mother: what exactly was amputated? She says that the family isn’t going to answer questions about Roman’s health now. (earlier Roman’s wife had said the same) And in this very article the journalist adds: “Yet she still didn’t answer what exactly was amputated”.
I mean the journalist still doesn’t understand that the family isn’t going to answer such questions.
I’d say a journalist should be extremely stupid and extremely tactless to write such an article.
That’s why I even think that maybe it is bad that I read some of those articles (that I click on them). I think I do that because this is the only way we can get some good news.
Maybe we should have patience.

I understand the debate about the accuracy of these news articles and why we should be careful about what we take as the truth. That said, I think that expressing concern about Roman and contributing to the good wishes, prayers and positive vibes for him is great. His medical situation is clearly very serious, regardless of the specific details, and the positive energy of fans and skating lovers certainly can't hurt.

I don’t deny that he is in a severe condition.

I just feel that reposting unpleasant details together with those wild "journalists" would be almost like participating in the bulling of his family. (Especially when we see that those "journalists" easily post something what can be untrue.)

I’m grateful that people here think about Roman and wish him health.

Maybe it is just better to behave like his family does: not to talk too much about unpleasant details and to hope for the best.

Averbukh hits just the right note when he talks about "energy of love and show that he is not alone" - that is exactly what all of us who care about Roman should be doing. Actually, that is all we can do right now.

Averbukh? I don’t know. I understand why some people dislike that he says that the planned Ice Age tour is going to become a tour in support of Roman. It is openly said that they are going to give Roman not all the money, but a part of money. (but it is not about one show, it is about many shows)

Well, I think Roman is the one who has a right to judge whether Averbukh chose a decent way to help or not.

I hope for the best. I hope Roman can have some positive feelings about Averbukh’s decision, because anyway Roman needs some positive feelings. And I hope this tour can be a serious financial support for Roman indeed.

As for the current situation, it is said Roman agreed by himself to do these surgeries. I think it is true. If so, he chose to take this step, if it can save his life.
