I'm curious. Is Taschlerova's handstand within the rules?
Yes, we've been seeing more skaters do stuff like that ever since Aymoz did it.I'm curious. Is Taschlerova's handstand within the rules?
@puglover asked about Kiibus in the 2020 Nebelhorn Ladies Podium Poll thread - she just skated at the Tallinn Open Championships this past weekend and here's a relevant excerpt (and FS video link) from that competition thread in Kiss & Cry:Via Benoit Richaud's Instagram stories, there was a gala earlier today in Courchevel (Peak Ice Camps) and Estonia's Eva-Lotta Kiibus performed her new SP, choreographed by Richaud to Harry Styles' "Sign of the Times."

I spent quarantine in the best way I could. I tried to keep training hard and stay motivated. Being off the ice for long is never my favorite thing but I needed a break anyways. I was lucky enough to go to Finland in the middle of June to get my programs done by the amazing Tom Dickson. I loved working with him and I think we came up with two really good programs. At the moment I'm training hard for the season, hoping that it will begin as planned. If not I'm staying strong and motivated for whatever happens.
When did Aymoz ever do a headstand in a figure skating competition?Yes, we've been seeing more skaters do stuff like that ever since Aymoz did it.
He skated for four seasons with Danielle Montalbano, so I wouldn't read too much into things if I were you.Weird, it seems that Anna Vernikov and Krasnopolski are signed up for the Russian GP. I am shocked! Is he keeping the same partner for TWO seasons? Is it because of the ********* that he had no opportunity to do his usual swap? Or is he getting wiser with his ‘older’ age?
Yes, but that was the only partner who managed more than one season (or one season and tiny bit extra, if we are accurate). Since then he never managed such commitment ever again. He skated for four seasons with Danielle Montalbano, so I wouldn't read too much into things if I were you.
Well, he switched the partners even in the off-season before the Olympics, so I don’t think he is so much worried about what makes sense. If he went for what makes sense, he would try to keep any of his partners longer than a year. Conners was not bad at all, for example.Vernikov/Krasnopolski have only competed internationally 6 times together since early 2019. If he wants to qualify for his 3rd Olympics, it would make sense to keep his current partner.
I give Paige Conners a LOT of credit for learning pairs quickly and well in the Olympic season and making it to PyeongChang. She talks about her experience, burnout and enjoyment of collegiate skating in this April 2019 University of Delaware article:Conners was not bad at all, for example.
“That whole season was so long, I got so run down,” Conners says of her Olympic run. “I didn’t put my skates on for six months after that. It’s crazy. I quit. I was like, ‘I’m done. I hate this.’”
...
At that practice I learned that most figure skater’s careers end around the time most people enter college. It makes sense. It’d be impossible to keep up with a world-class training regimen (Connors skated for roughly five hours a day in her buildup to the Olympics) and attend class regularly.
...
It took a six-month hiatus for Conners to give it another chance. She did so at the urging of the coaches and maybe a quiet desire to reconnect with the sport she’s dedicated most of her life too.

I am pretty sure Agafonova/Ucar have won a challenger event back in the days and medalled in others. Was Burak Demirboga's silver in Budapest a first ever CS medal for Turkey?
Our National Athlete Burak DEMİRBOĞA, representing our country in the Senior Men category in the Budapest Trophy competition in Hungary, won the Silver Medal, and our national athlete Alp Eren ÖZKAN, representing our country in the Junior Men category, won the bronze medal.
Another National Athlete, Başar OKTAR, representing our country in the Senior Men category, finished 4th among 11 athletes.
Congratulations to our athletes.

Founder @divan is a member here at FSU, I noticed today.Skate Ukraine is a non-profit public organization dedicated to developing Ukrainian figure skating. It has started in 2006 as an online community of figure skating fans, skaters and coaches under the name skating.com.ua and in summer of 2020 was registered as a non-profit and rebranded as Skate Ukraine.
