Plushenko announced the resolution of the issue with Kostornaya's transfer through the Ministry of Sports
https://sportrbc.ru/news/5f2a7f799a7947303bd769a6
“Alena has started the training process. She skates with Sergei Rozanov. In parallel, we are preparing documents. Despite the fact that the transfer window is closed, we expect to make the transition, ”Plushenko hopes.

The two-time Olympic champion expects that Kostornaya will still be allowed to go to his academy. “I want to talk with the Ministry of Sports, with the Minister of Sports, so that Alena would be allowed to change the club as an exception. If we are met, it will be great. Still, Alena is the European champion, ”Plushenko explained.

But if the transition is not allowed, this will not be a problem. “In official competitions, she can skate for the previous club, and train with me. I have no obstacles to this, ”the head of the academy specified.

I hope they can make an exception because of coronavirus.

But, does Chebotareva even have any students left? Maybe it was partly her withdrawal from coaching? He left in June. Maybe he'd notified the Fed by the May deadline? I don't recall there being any fanfare one way or the other apart from the fact Mishin wasn't interested in taking Konstantinova as well. Who also left Chebotareva.
Chebotareva didn't just have Kolyada and Konstantinova. She has an entire group, like any Russian coach. She may want to retire from coaching but she may just want to concentrate on her younger students.

I think this was a good move for Trusova but it will be a disaster for Kostornaia. I hope I'm wrong. It's hard, having seen conflicting info on what exactly happened. If Plush does end up being a bad fit for her, I hope eventually she finds her way to the right coach, but of course it's very early and I hope it will work out.

Considering the latest info on Alyona's health problems the conflict could easlily have been around that.

What latest info?
The "disappearing" videos posted by Dr. Alexei Ivkov which were then elaborated upon by an insider (most likely an official one considering the info she's provided). But even before that there were health problems mentioned by Daniil and doctors Plushenko's talked about in his interview. No details about what exactly the health problems are have been provided, just that they exist and require a medical team.

What videos are you referring to? There were videos from practice sessions posted that were deleted, but what reference to health problems was there - they were just videos showing Alena doing choreo? Also do you have links to those interviews?

This interview - https://sportrbc.ru/news/5f2a970b9a79473bd48f99a2?ruid=UET9A18sQRCnLzZ7A1qCAg== - doesn't mention any health problems?

Aliona has had issues with her foot in the past. She missed the junior world championship before turning senior as a consequence. No idea if that is a recurring injury or not.

It's not the content of the videos but who posted them. Do we see a lot of training videos filmed by sports medicine specialists? It was then confirmed that Dr. Ivkov was treating Alyona which made sense.

Doctors were mentioned by Plushenko here but there were no references to specific health problems:

Gleikhengaus refers to there being something wrong with Alyona's health here:

I haven't seen anything about Kistornaia's health. Must just be silly rumor.

OK, great, thanks for confirming there is nothing. These articles literally make no references to her health?

He is part of Plushenko's team, which he mentions, is large, so why would filming a video of Alena doing chorepgraphy have anything to do with her health? Who cares who is filming it.

The first article Plushenko said he has a big team, including coaches, choreographers and doctors/medical staff, includng a massage therapist. There was zero reference to anything suggesting she has health problems.

I don't know why you are starting rumours.

Although Russian culture is pretty hierarchical, I assume that Western coaches can be just as temperamental, they’re just not as public about it.

I hear you. But if they can be like this in public I shudder to think what they're like in private. Brr.....

I am not starting anything, none of this information comes from me. I am not the insider. You are free to believe whatever you choose.

Btw, Ivkov is the former doctor of the rthythmic gymnastics national team, he does not work for Plushenko.

Is anyone else disappointed for Trusova’s sake as I am? I was really looking forward to Trusova’s being the center of attention and the main focus of the whole team Plushenko’s effort. I wonder whether Plushenko’s had asked her opinion before he agreed to coach Kostornaia.

I am not disappointed. The reality is that one can’t buy a coach’s full attention by reserving that he won’t teach any other high level students. However, I think Pluschenko is a better match with Trusova than with Kostornaya - Pluschenko’s style of skating was more about jumps and not as much about other things, so I think he will be able to work better with Trusova than with Kostornaya. I wouldn’t be surprised if this season Trusova was beating Kostornaya, as long as she doesn’t get injured.

@SkatingLover I mean not really at all. Coaches don't care and skaters shouldn't care. It's completely normal for one coach to have multiple different top skaters. Rafael Artunyan, Gadbois, Orser, Eteri, Lambiel, Mishin etc. (not to mention great coaches of the past like Frank Carol) all have many top skaters in direct competition with each other - and far more than Plushenko has. Certain rinks have lots of top skaters at any given time even if they don't share a coach.

It should also be noted that in Russia the "coach" (eg. Plushenko) is more like a skating director or manager. Some are very hands on with the training and therefore like an American coach (Eteri) while some are simply coach in name only due to managing other coaches (Plushenko). In fact, at Eteri's rink Trusova and Kostornaia had separate primary coaches - which is cited as why Kostornaia skates in a more artistic manner and Trusova is more technical. For all we know this is the arrangement at Plushenko's.

In addition, Plushenko came out and said that they wouldn't be sharing ice time, so I'm sure each will get attention focused on them at their respective sessions.

I don’t think that’s quite correct.
As far as I understand, in Russia it is same as in America. Coach is doing the actual coaching (training the skaters). There are only three coaches I know of who are or were more of a manager and less as a coach - Pluschenko (because he did shows and did not prioritise coaching), Moser (because after the Sochi Olympics she seemed without any motivation so the other coaches took over) and Tarasova (but only in the old age, when she was more like retired and coached only by occasional visiting the rink and the rest was done by Buyanova). The rest of the coaches I know, they all actually do the coaching job, as in, train the skaters. Mishin, Moskvina, Tutberidze, Buyanova, Chebotareva, Zhulin, Zhuk, Svinin, Krylova, Urmanov, Velikovs, Pavlova, Morozov, Minchuk, Sokolov...that’s just a few out of my head, I am sure there are much more of them - they all coach their students. So someone like Pluschenko or Moser are exceptions. Pluschenko could afford that, with his name and with the fact that the skating school is his, and Moser - I have suspicion that she had a burnout and the federation decided to support her because of the past results. Besides, her school still produces results, until last year Zabijako-Enbert and Tarasova-Morozov and from this season Pepeleva-Pleshkov are on the senior national team and they also have two junior pairs on the national team. But there are no other cases where coach can be only a manager and others are doing the job.

in regards to Trusova and Kostornaya having different primary coaches when under Tutberidze, that’s also incorrect. They had different coaches before moving to Tutberidze, but when they were at Tutberidze, they had the trio (Tutberidze/Dudakov/Gleichengauz), like every other senior in that group.
