I think they deserve their own thread. Wishing Kana/Dai good luck at their first
competition together as Ice Dancers at the NHK Trophy!

I didn't want to start one before NHK Trophy for fear of jinxing them but now that it got started...I think they deserve their own thread. Wishing Kana/Dai good luck at their first

P&C do very simple lifts that are still level 4 so they should be able to do it. They don't have to be acrobatic like V&M to get the levels. He looks so natural in the footwork, wow, really impressed. It will be interesting to see what they can do to get levels on simpler lifts.
This is the complete footage of Kana and Dai's practicing in Florida that was aired during Carnival on Ice (which re-aired in its complete version today), and it's from 2/3 months ago.

I've been intrigued by the idea of this team ever since their partnership was announced. Really enjoyed both programs and am impressed by their versatility. They've made a good start, I think. I'm really looking forward to watching their progress. Great potential.
Loved the Free Dance. Refreshing to see a pas de deux on the ice. Beautiful presentation and they have a lovely refined quality and lightness to their skating. The stumble and hands down on the twizzles was unfortunate, but it didn't seem overly disruptive to the program as a whole and he recovered almost immediately. Good job, Kana & Dai!
Interesting! Despite Chris being the more experience ice dancer, I thought Kana was a star in that pair. I always found her very musical and emotive on the ice. I'm excited to see how she and Daisuke continue to gel. And if they can get those levels up.I really enjoyed their programs, particularly the free dance. I was pleasantly surprised at how solid the spins and lifts were given Dai being new to dance and that they've had limited time to train. Kana really shines in the free dance. I'm not sure if she is actually an improved dancer or if it's her confidence, but I watched Chris more than Kana when they skated together.
Went back to check these^ links. As often happens on YT, those videos have been taken down. Anyway, found some different videos. I hope they don't get taken down as well.
