Just call me Harry. (Everything Harry & Meghan)

Wow. I haven’t even posted in here in days and I'm getting called out.

I get it. Some of you are so completely blinded by the race factor that you are incapable of seeing any degree of nuance in any of the conversations. If Meghan says it is about race, it must be so.

I honestly could care less about her race. And, when she married Harry, I thought she would be a great addition to the BRF. I'm on record in the royalty forum I participate in (have been a member there since approx 2008) supporting her. I'm allowed to change my opinion when new information presents itself about both she and Harry's conduct and motives for exiting the BRF as working royals.

I deliberately have tried to cut back on commenting in this particular discussion because alternative POVs are not welcome. Anyone who doesn't believe every single last thing out of H&M's as gospel truth, especially with regard to race as a factor in Archie's title or security must be a racist. What an offensive, disgusting thing to say. Way to keep dividing people up instead of uniting us.

Actually, no. Some criticisms of Meghan are not racist. For instance: she gave up her longtime dog Bogart and always was kind of murky about why. First it was he was too old to make the trip to England, then it was he didn't like Harry. As an animal lover I hate people who abandon senior pets for any reason. I also don't think Thomas Markle is motivated by race. By spite and greed yes but not race.

But if royal members asked about the color of Archie's skin, that is about race. If Princess Michael of Kent wears a blackamoor brooch that is racist. If there's articles with headlines "Straight Outta Compton" that is racist. Anyone who tries to defend those behaviors or gets incredibly pressed about things that aren't their business ("she rubbed her belly!" "she had a secret wedding vow ceremony!") IMO is motivated by implicit bias. Because who cares if she rubs her belly? She's not rubbing YOUR belly.

Translation: when I post opinions in here, people who disagree with me say so. :drama:

I can attest to that it was unwise if she flew the dog at his age and the length of trip. I’ve known a few people in that position. I personally could never leave my dogs but I can understand what she did.

I think a couple has a right to define their own anniversary.
In Germany, you have to have a civil ceremony in order for the wedding to be legal, so, if you want to get married in church also, you have to have a second ceremony. My parents did it on the same day but many couples do it on two different days (often for scheduling reasons) and then they pick the date that they want as their wedding anniversary. Some choose the date of their civil ceremony because it is the day they got officially married, others choose the date of their church wedding because that is more meaningful for them.
When you have two ceremonies, the church ceremony is usually where all your friends attend and after which you also have the party whereas the civil ceremony is a very, very small affair with only your witnesses and closest family present if there are two ceremonies.

What Harry and Meghan did reminds me a lot of how German weddings usually happen when there are two ceremonies.

I don’t hate Meghan I don’t know her. Her public persona rubs me wrong way. She is the one who chose to give an interview trashing her husbands family. And if she exaggerated about the wedding she could have exaggerated about other things.
For someone you don't know and claim not to hate, you've posted a lot of hateful things because you think she is making trashing remarks. And somehow didn't get married in the order you think she should have done. Or something like that.

I have never once criticized Meghans skin color or defended criticizing it or criticized her for touching her baby I brought up the wedding thing only because it skirted the rules in that country put archbishop in her place. And it shows inconsistenties.

personally I think it’s just as problematic attitude to say if you don’t like someone you must be racist. And see I am not racist so I will believe whatever someone says. ?

Let me be clear I could care less about anyone’s skin color.

Prince Harry has a job! He is joining BetterUp, a counseling/coaching group, as Chief Impact Officer:

ETA-- Washington Post article on the announcement:

Harry news.

Harry and Meghan will continue to make news, so I am re-opening this thread to keep H&M out of the other royalty thread, as some people can't seem to resist. But there are conditions and they begin with starting fresh, which means no resurrecting past topics from the last, oh, 20 pages, as I think every post was already repeated at least three times.

Agree to disagree about all things related to the Oprah interview and move on.

Thank you!

There's some special on Peacock about them. I noticed it when I was going in to watch skating. Is this something new or some mishmash of prior interviews?

:blah::blah:

I'm pretty sure Prancer said to not bring things up from before the thread got locked so maybe discuss Harry's new appointment and assume that everyone who reads this thread recognises the same dead horse you've been flogging for pages and pages now and doesn't need a reminder?

If anyone has a bit of spare change in their accounts and would like to move in next door, here's your chance!
(to me putting a house on the market at less than it sold before does not sound like a boom, but I am not in real estate)
Hard pass ???

Prancer most certainly did and will no longer consider poor reading comprehension an excuse for ignoring what was said. Try to resurrect those dead horses again and you will go on vacation for a while.

Shall we guess at what name they will give their baby girl due this summer?? I'm hearing Frances as a possible name!

I'm sure that the Queen's Easter photos with Charles in the lovely gardens of Frogmore Cottage are going to be interpreted as a snub to Meghan and Harry: "see what you're missing by not being here!"

They were on the grounds of Frogmore House, not Frogmore Cottage. I've read they were at a private engagement, the details of which will be revealed in the coming weeks.

Double post: btw my prediction to DH is correct. Fox & Friends is reporting that Prince Phillip's death is due to Harry & Meghan doing that interview.
