Joshua Farris: Not Allergic To Gold - the Uber thread!

I wonder how recent the concussion was (it was obviously before TSL was at World Arena). It's concerning that he wasn't well enough to even attend the meetings and team building portions of Champs Camp. He lives right down the road, so he wouldn't have had to travel.
... and what caused it. Training? Car accident? Smth. else?

PERSONAL NOTES

... Enjoys songwriting, singing, playing guitar, mountain biking and cosmology
Oh, Josh.

I wish there were "heart eyes" or "uber fan" smilies so I could graphically show how much I love that he has an interest in cosmology.

I like the LP music choice, too, as much as I was hoping he'd choose something by Copland with worlds being in the US.

((Josh)). Hoping he heals completely, and returns to skating when he is totally fine, whenever that is. This must be very hard for him, an injury with no timeline. Coraggio.

Bumping this thread to let you all know about something I and a few others have organized: a Twitter/social media trend of #GiveJoshLove this next Sunday, Feb. 14, on the anniversary of his 4CC silver medal! Here are the details, if you'd like to participate:
  • The event will take place on February 14.
  • Use the hashtag #GiveJoshLove along with your best wishes, favorite program/memories, etc.
  • We are striving to concentrate the tweets/posts/etc. in a specific time window, which is 2-4 PM Colorado time (9-11 PM GMT/UTC). This will move into the morning of Feb. 15 for some time zones. For those who need to figure out what that is for their time zone, here’s a time zone converter:http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
  • Twitter is where the main event will be concentrated. If you have a Tumblr but not a Twitter, feel free to contact someone who has a Twitter and ask them to post screenshots of your Tumblr post and tag it.
  • In case you will have plans that day or otherwise may not be able to be on Twitter during the planned window, I’m told that https://buffer.com/ has a way to schedule tweets to be sent out at a preset time.
  • Particularly since the 4CC anniversary (and thus our trend) ended up falling on Feb. 14, this bears repeating: The idea is to send encouragement, well wishes, positivity. The idea is NOT to pressure someone into more social media engagement or send any creepy messages, no matter how funny they might seem at the moment. This is a show of affectionate support, no more, no less. Please be respectful.
A source has informed me that there may, hopefully, be an insider ally who will ensure Josh actually goes on social media that day (because he's on social media so much most of the time ;)) so let's all send our very best to this amazingly talented young man who's had a rough year and could use the love. If you have any questions let me know. Thanks! :)

bwayrose7, are you suggesting we also include his twitter address @joshDfarris in the tweet?

We totally can! We don't need to include it in every tweet necessarily, because the hope is that everyone using the hashtag #GiveJoshLove in a concentrated timespan will trigger the Twitter trend algorithms, but it couldn't hurt to @ him as well :)

@bwayrose7, how did the #GiveJoshLove social media event turn out?

It turned out quite well, I must say! Although we don't know whether or not Josh saw the messages (we hope he did), we did get a really nice turnout. Here are a few links from the event: (thanks to musicfan80 on GS for assembling these!)

Thanks so much for the news, @wickedwitch!

I watched some of the Juvenile ladies final round (mostly because I was curious about what level equivalent it was), and he sat with the first three ladies in a row! I'm pretty sure Damon was their primary coach, but Josh was helping out. He looks good, there were smiles, he's cut his hair.

I miss him so much.

Here we go! Thanks to @bwayrose7's help, we have all the details for this year's #GIVEJOSHLOVE event!

Let's shower him in love to show how happy we are that he's back!
