JGP debut for Abayeva. She's a very nice skater to watch. Has a lot of polish for a newbie.

I don't remember her. Japan has such depth!Have we seen Mayuko Oka before? That was a delight.

Glad to know I'm not alone in that sentiment. I woke up midway through Sofia's program and was so impressed by her presentation. I missed Kaljuvere, so I can't comment on her program. Yujae was her typical, rather bland self. Murakami was fine, though I can't help lamenting her loss to pairs skating. I rewound to watch Sophie Joline and wow has her PCS improved tremendously since even last spring. Also really enjoyed Leandra and Stefania - such a shame about the fall on the last spin for Stefania, otherwise she'd easily be in 3rd or 4th, IMO. Mayuko - there's a lot of potential there, but that program was a bit weird, even knowing it was Weaver choreo. I don't know what I think of her winning the PCS mark.I'd have had Sofia at least 5th. Her PCS should have been higher. But we'll see how she does in the free.
Loved the music, choreo and costume. Shout out to Kaitlyn and Kana. Oka is marvelous, the talent pool in Japan is just bottomless.love the program and dress from Japan's Oka! I think that might be my favourite dress of the season so far. She just needs to work on the second mark a little - skates a little introspective not to the audience yet - but she is young. I agree with the judging for her program.
I thought Sofia B’s combo was the weakest of the top 6. Hard to offset that with PCS when the top 6 also had strong components.I'd have had Sofia at least 5th. Her PCS should have been higher. But we'll see how she does in the free.
