The strength of this team is their power, and ice coverage. Some issues with levels where some of the elements need to be cleaned up, and the movements need to be sharper.

The opening stationary lift is highlight of this program for me. The rest of the program was good, but I don't think the performance level quite reach the level that it needed to for the music.

Some creative stuff in the opening choreographic element, and in the final stationary lift. Still some technical issues with the skating, and their elements, but nice to see the crowd reaction for the home skaters.

79.89 = 6th Place

Strong skating, and a strong performance. Not doing anything to reinterpret a warhorse, but presenting the clear vision of the choreography.

Some good stuff within the choreographic elements, and little touches throughout the program to continue the theme. Seems to be some issues with levels that will need to be ironed out as the season goes on.

They were skating so beautifully until the twizzle sequence. I was quite mesmerized by their performance, and then all of the sudden the twizzles went wonky.

In addition to the fall from Iryna, there were a few moments that didn't go that smoothly, but their overall quality of skating carried them through.

-1.00 = Falls

92.06 = 1st Place
155.14 = 1st Place

They look great on the ice, but there's something missing in the performance at this point.

Someone needs to tell Mimi and Joseph what Porgy and Bess is about. It's one thing to grin your way through "Summertime" -- that's a song that can work fine out of context -- but if you're using more of the songs than that, you need to know it's not some lighthearted fairy tale, and perform accordingly. They're talented kids and I like them; they just need some help in the presentation department.
