Nice height on the Lutz, but some difficulty with spins today. Not much going on with the presentation, or performance.

Great energy level in the performance. The jump technique is not great - not much height, or speed going in or out.

Lower base value on the jumps, but quality on all the elements. Everything is easy on the eye, and the stretch, and line are very appreciable.

Good all-round skater, and too bad about the mistake on the combination jump. Not sure about giving 'Sexy Back' to a 17-year-old but he has good sense of performance, and showmanship.

Great performance despite the questionable nature of the music choice. The jumps looked great, and again all the skating is of a quality we expect from Japanese skaters.

Fegan

Firebird, nicely placed 3s with the musical phrasing, 3z-2t, 3f flip out, 3z flip out, nice extended positions on his spins, excellent carriage, I think I'd like to see more emotion and showmanship, I guess he's going the 3-2a-2r sequence route and no 3-3s in the LP. Didn't land a lot of stuff completely clean, which he needed since his TES is lower to begin with

ETA: He is pleasantly surprised with the score. Great reaction!

Tian

2a to open, 3f-2t, 3s, nice secure landings today, 3z-3t nice, anemic illusion that could use more extension,3z-2a-2t really impressed with his jumps, so solid, showing some expression through the step sequence, could use more interpretation earlier in the program. Clean skate :cheer:

Brooks

4t step out 3a better, 3f-reaching hand down-2t, nice headless scratch spin position to end combo spin, fall on 3z, would like him to pay more attention to the details like how his landing leg and foot are positioned, 3f-2a-2a, angsty choreo sequence, lost himself in air on 2t. Kinda hard to believe he's a Gambill student when much is left unfinished. Time to take some notes from his American ice princess teammates! OTOH, there is good attack and attention to the music.

Vaclavik

Matrix, 3a-2t, 3a pitched forward, 3r with quick foot down, 3s, fizzling out with 2z-1a-axelesque attempt, fall on 3r, he went for it, but having difficulty with consistency this season

Uemura

Skating with flair into opening 3a-2t, 3a, good speed, soft landings, 3f-3t turnouts, 3z problems as well, 3t-2a-2a, 3s, more jump difficulties than Tian. Also more speed and stretch and a better commitment to music

Nishino

4t good, 4s, 3f-3t, well, that's a great start! 3a-1r-3s with controlled euler, big open movement, 3a in second half of program, 3r-2a, masterclass skating, I think I like him better than Nakata :respec:
