Beautiful sense of presentation, and original movement throughout the program, but not quite the technical sharpness needed for the full effect to be realized.

A skater who's very easy on the eye, and a good overall skater, but in a junior short program missing a combination is costly.

If placements from SP stayed the same, Takahashi would make the final and Uemuru and Krouglov would be in a total score points tiebreak for final spot. If Krouglov moves up to silver and Takahashi retains gold, then both of them make it. Kazanecki would make it if he moves up to silver and Takahashi stays in the gold medal position. If Takahashi moves down, then there's a lot of different scenarios.

And the Men FS is underway.

Motilla had to withdraw due to ongoing boot issues. He had been using very new replacement boots in the SP.

The fire alarm went off in the complex with flashing lights happening during the skate of Mihaylov of Bulgaria. The music kept playing and he kept skating.

After 2 of the 4 groups there is an ice resurfacing. There was also an interview about the history and development of ice sports in the UAE.

Potapenko

Nice 3z-3t to start, some nice solo triples, 2a-1a-2a pitched forward with hand reaching for ice on last axel, needs to work on expression and interpreting the music

Smagulov

3a into impromptu spread eagle, 3a-2t better, some Rippon arms, fall on 3r and 3f, dramatic through the choreo step sequence

Sheiko, N.

Getting into character right away, nice 3a-2t, really long setup into 3a fall, 3z-2a-2a good security on the landings, nice rhythm and interpretation to the movement, first program I’ve watched today that felt like a complete performance the whole way through the program

Tian

1a to open, nice program composition with lots of linking footwork, nice 3z-2a-2a, 3f-3t fall, not his best day but good base of technique and performance to build on

Lindfors

:rollin: at center ice to start, some interesting oblique shapes, wipeout on 3z, 2a into flying sit spin, nice presence on the ice, 3f-1t, needs more technical content to contend

Li, J.

High picking leg into 3z-3t, 3f-turns-2t, 1a, not getting all the revolutions in on his jumps today

Long

Good 3a-3t to open, spun out of 3a, nice speed across the ice, popped flip to a single, great posture and glide, some messy jumps today, though

Kazanecki

4t-3t, 4t, 3a step out, not a lot of expression, 3z-3t, already has higher TES with four elements to go, lots of room to grow in skating skills and musical interpretation

Krouglov

Floaty 3a to open, 3z-2t very close to the boards, spins a bit travelly, calm, collected performance, 3f-3t, short 3z, otherwise, great skate

Uemura

Dynamic arms to begin, 3a fall, and another 3a fall, that’s not going to cut it in this field, 3f-3t. Looked like the pick slipped on the flip takeoff but he handled it, 3t-2a-2a, sit spin ground to an almost halt, nice basics, not his best skate today

Takahashi

Um, he skated through his first jump, re-set and then did 3s, callers didn’t call the missed jump attempt but they should, 3a-2t, nice flow across ice, wild 1a, 3f-2a-2a, bailed on 2r in the air, this is not his day
