Her movement quality (both going by body movement as well as the way she moves across the ice) is not at all suited to a tango. I don't remember her programs from previous seasons, maybe this is better, but it doesn't make it any good to me. Even beyond that, I just don't like the choreography.

She’s supposed to be stepping out of her comfort zone here. But the way she moves is exactly the same as before. Maybe she’ll work on it through the season.

Maybe, but if she gets scored like that already, then I doubt it.

It does deserve huge scores on the Skating Skill component (or whatever it's called now). But she's not getting dinged on the other two, not yet anyway.

Sato should stop trying to be Uno, because he really isn't, outside of the dreadful take-offs on his toe jumps. Like, even his axel is tiny compared to Uno's.

Well Sakamoto's hair colour works very well with that costume, IMO (or better than with the Tango anyway). Similarly, I think this type of movement isn't outside her grasp - but it needs work, right now.

I hope Aoki brings back her free skate from last season and is crowned Japanese National Champion in the women's, men's, and pairs' categories this season. That is all.

I don't get the feeling at all that Sato is trying to be a Soma clone when he skates. Soma also didn't have a big 3a. It covers more distance than Sato's, but the amplitude is about the same.

The one negative thing about Sato's skating is a shockingly bad forward camel position, especially for such a graceful skater. How could someone who started skating as a kid not have worked on his flexibility also ? You have to at least be able to get the free leg parallel to the ice in the camel.

This is kind of an old news but Shoma finally received the silver medal on September 10, as a member of Team Event for the Beijing Olympic Games.

And Shoma put the medal around his mother's neck thanking her for her support all along - just like what Nathan did.😊

Nobinari Oda, who is 37 years old, just announced his (2nd) retirement after this season, as he feels that his hip and knee will not hold anymore.

He just finished competing for Kinki Regional and got 3rd place and showed energetic and emotional performance for both SP and FS!
