Jonathan Joss, an actor who had a recurring role in Parks and Rec and who was also a voice actor on King of the Hill was killed by a neighbor in San Antonio. His husband is claiming the incident was a homophobic attack. He made a post about it, and if you read it, there's a trigger warning for animal abuse (on the neighbor's part). TMZ has videos of EMTs trying to resuscitate Mr. Joss, but I'm not going to post those links.

My Rick Derringer encounter. When I was dancing in NYC, I was in a rock n roll dance company for a while. Ballet rock. We booked the Limelight and when we got there, the stage manager told us that there would be an opening act for us. It was Rick Derringer. I was like “Derringer is opening for us, and not the other way around?” The manager said that he wasn’t well known anymore so yes, we were the headliner. Derringer was nice - he stuck around for our set. RIP.

Dr. David McGillivray had a very successful career as a paediatric emergency physician at the Montreal Children’s Hospital where he excelled in not only clinical care but also research, training and educational initiatives with the McGill Faculty of Medicine, winning multiple awards. A major accomplishment was taking the lead in creating the Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) subspeciality at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
