In Memoriam

Jonathan Joss, an actor who had a recurring role in Parks and Rec and who was also a voice actor on King of the Hill was killed by a neighbor in San Antonio. His husband is claiming the incident was a homophobic attack. He made a post about it, and if you read it, there's a trigger warning for animal abuse (on the neighbor's part). TMZ has videos of EMTs trying to resuscitate Mr. Joss, but I'm not going to post those links.

Rick Derringer, who had a hit with the McCoys (Hang on Sloopy) and then as a solo artist (Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo) has passed away. He also produced several albums for Weird Al Yankovic.
My Rick Derringer encounter. When I was dancing in NYC, I was in a rock n roll dance company for a while. Ballet rock. We booked the Limelight and when we got there, the stage manager told us that there would be an opening act for us. It was Rick Derringer. I was like “Derringer is opening for us, and not the other way around?” The manager said that he wasn’t well known anymore so yes, we were the headliner. Derringer was nice - he stuck around for our set. RIP.

I saw this post on the Skate Canada Facebook page. I never heard of David Gillivray. His post skating life was dedicated to pediatric medicine, per the post from SC.

May his memory be for a blessing.
