Ok,I just want to say that I read in IFS. that this is the first time in 50 years that Worlds has had to be canceled because of a crisis. So it kinda made me think of this question. How do they determine the skaters that go to the Olympics when Worlds can't be held? Or do skaters not necessarily have to go to Worlds to qualify? Does anyone know?

Skaters don't qualify from Worlds to Olympics. Federations qualify spots based on how their skaters did at the previous Worlds.

If there is no 2021 Worlds, and there is a 2022 Olympics, then the ISU will have to figure out another way to determine which federations get Olympic slots and which if any will get more than one slot.

It's up to the individual federations to choose which skaters they want to send to fill those slots. Most use their national championships plus other considerations in many cases.
