Interesting how things are going at worlds this year, Out of the big 4 countries (USA,RUS,CHN,ROU) Romania was out of the picture for team, and now Russia isn't in contention for the AA. Seems like the guard is starting to change a bit in European gymnastics.

It's OK, Onyshko has moved up at least three places from qualifying (and probably will pass three more people who have 12s but aren't done competing) so I'd still call it a decent result for her.

And Black finishes off on a high note. Hope she can come back strong in EF on beam.

That score for Iordache seems a bit generous but I won't get too hung up on it since it gets to the right result. I thought Shang's floor was also generous so I guess it all events out.

Interestingly, Gabby only about 0.2 ahead of Larissa I can't say that I agree with that.

For you trivia folks out there, when was the last time that we had a woman win the OGM and then come back and medal at any AA of the World Championships?

I doubt Gabby will raise her difficulty enough to compete with a clean Simone. A clean Simone also has E score advantage over Gabby too.

Since I think Raducan being stripped of her gold medal in Sydney was BS, I would agree with this answer. But I do feel compelled to point out that if we go by the history books, the last one would be Elena Davydova way back in 1981.

Well there might be the technicality of Sydney fiasco and Amanar being considered the 2000 AA champ, but to me Raducan will always be 2000 the AA champ, before that the last one to do it IIRC was Tourischeva in the 70's

@Erin posted a link back when the championships started that IIRC said you had to medal in EF to qualify a spot...I'm not sure AA qualifies but IMO it should. Hopefully so! Not that there'd be any question about her being selected anyway tbh.

Congrats Simone!!! She's just that good even with the OOB. Now rock EF and stay healthy.

Really happy with this podium. Best case scenario really, love the reaction of all 3. Even though Simone flubbed a bit this was her best ever UB at worlds (and her execution everywhere else is a cut above).

Shang Chunsong has a really bad vault, and her fx was too high today IMO.

Kind of but the podium is a nice ending.

Saraiva finished last. shes so cute but that isn't stellar.
