Russian federation often gives JGP events based on what they see at the test skates. Junior nationals are in January, junior worlds in March, and test skates in August, therefore it makes much more sense to hand out the assignments based on how the skaters look in august, rather than how they were five and seven months before. I have suspicion that they thought she was overweight (she said they told her she should lose weight), so they decidd that she is too much out of shape. If I recall correctly, she didn’t bother to show any jumps and they didn’t look particularly strong last year at the test skates.

I am not surprised it was Polina who initiated the split. Ialin had to move to seniors, she has still two more years of junior eligibility. Both ladies and parents expected sponsors to come running, but they did not. Yana Rudkovskaya is a "business lady" and promised to find them sponsors. The issue of "why Kostornaya is not getting sponsors" was a subject of several articles this Spring. And Trusova can't figure out either why with all her cute dressed up dogs and her jumps she is not getting much commercial attention. The most worried ones were their parents.

Tinami, Rudkovskaya is a business woman but I believe she had no one word about the sponsors...she didn't promise anything. Can you show me the article when she said this??????

Lack of shows and uncertainty of prize money - Plushenko signed them up for his winter shows, one of them is "Snow Maiden". With Lipnitzkaya out being mother and Sotnikova's popularity fading, Trus and Kost are Plushy's new stars, with contracts and guaranteed pay.

This is just your supposition.

Pluschenko is also paying them a "stipend" either a one time fee, or in portions. Both families will take whatever money they can make now, because there is no guarantee the girls will win Olympics, or if Olympics will even take place in their time span. Trusova can't jump like that forever, and Kostornaya announced she is going to Med school after 2022.

Trusova's family is rich. No need Plushenko's money. Will Plushenko paying them anything? Where did you read this?? Plus you even know he is paying them stipend "a one time fee, or in portions" This is just your supposition again.

Then of course "personal". Kostornaya did not get alone with a few girls in the main group, bunch of little things that added up to resentment on both sides, the "other girls" would not accept Kostornaya's self-appointed prima status and stood up to her. Kostornaya did not want to train with them on ice or in a gym.

You can know this from Eteri's post on IG. But she said fake thing in it ( ( the agreement between Kotornaya and Plushenko was reached in May-this is totally stupidity ) so this is also questionable.

Probably the most interesting thing was the open politicking in it. Maybe one day we will again have a situation in Russia where the individual skater is the star and not the coach.

I do hope that perhaps one of the girls can try to over turn the narrative that the youngest girl closest to 15 will come out on top at the Olympics. There's certainly this undercurrent that the window of Trusova, Kostornaya, Shcherbakova is closing and it will soon be Valieva's time. But not that it is without basis, as we have seen the windows of Medvedeva and Zagitova and Sotnikova, Radionova, Lipnitkskaya close almost as soon as they opened.

But I feel he does have a point. Regardless whether Kostornaya did or did not request some conditions with whom she is willing to skate, the bottom line is, there is a rule in place about transitions to a different skating school. The transfer window is two months, April and May, and every Russian skater is aware of that. So it is not so unreasonable to ask skaters to stick to it, and if they don’t, there should be some financial consequences. I wouldn’t be upset if they cut her funding, and if Pluschenko is happy to fund her, that’s fine. But I am quite believer in rules and consequences. If there are no consequences, why bother with rules, if no one reinforces them and therefore no one have to stick to them?

Has Kostornaia asked for an exception for her funding to be moved to Plushenko? If I'm following the thread correctly, the two month window for changing coaches outside one's club is about being able to transfer funding, not being blocked from changing coaches outside the club, if the skater and new coach come to an agreement about funding the training.

This is perfectly understandable as a model: since the clubs are there to produce champions for the country, they are funded/subsidized by the government to avoid free market incentives. But, at a certain point, a club needs to know that its funding is set, so that they can come up with a budget and make the appropriate commitments to the team, including consultants. So, yeah, her training allocation should stay with Tutberidze's rink.
