Tatiana Navka and Sasha Zhulina look like sisters in that photo. Interesting to see which of these skaters' kids will become competitive skaters at a higher level, if any. Some are skating, but not all of them. I think from the previous generation of Russian top skaters, only Ksenia Makarova (daughter of pair skaters Larisa Selezneva and Oleg Makarov) became a high-level skater herself. She was a Russian Champion and a 2010 Olympian. Some others are currently competing in juniors (Maxim Naumov, son of Evgenia Shishkova/Vadim Naumov, who live in the USA and Ilia Malinin, the son of Tatiana Malinina and Roman Skorniakov - although they were Russian-born they competed for Uzbekistan, nowadays they are also based in the USA).

See news about Anna P. on Blazing Blades. I really was wondering about her. So, serious but undiagnosed back problem. Can't be a good place to be.

There were technical issues but I always enjoyed her adult skating. Like Kwan and Tuk her skating looked
adult at an early age. Wish her luck.

I'd add Ponomarenko and Fedor Andreev to the list and erm.. I might not like Stepanova/Bukin, but I do consider Bukin being a high level skater

No Astakhova/Rogonov. Is it just a mistake, or have they decided to retire?

In the senior reserve, Zhuk/Miroshkin. Nice to see Miroshkin trying to get back, but I thought he was involved in Lipnitskaya/Ilynikh school, so will he take his own skating seriously?

Maybe he just wants to keep his options open, straddle both for a while. He is very involved with the school though, but I do find little Zhuk a charmer and he is very capable and musical. If it doesn't work out with Max, I hope she can find a suitable partner. The pairs field is stacked and there are few available male partners. Wait how about that guy who used to skate with Mishina? Zhuk is pretty small. That could be an option, TOL.

Though Zhuk is not senior eligible yet this coming season, and Miroshkin is too old for juniors. It seems to me like the experiment with Yugai - they partnered, she wasn’t senior eligible and he wasn’t junior eligible, they went to skate in shows, them they did one competition which was very poor and then it fizzled out.

Gubanova and Panenkova are both on the main junior team
.
But the teams are about funding, not about what level they are going to skate at. Mikhailova skated in a senior GP this past season and based on her result they placed her into junior reserve team. I don’t think she has any intentions to skate in juniors ever again.

Leonova is not on any team. Sakhanovich is at senior reserve!!!
Pogorilaya and Radionova are on senior reserve team. :(:( I thought Radionova and Tsurskaya had pretty much comparable results throughout the season, and yet Tsurskaya is senior team and Radionova is at reserve team.

Yes, it’s mostly about funding. And funding depends on placement at National events - Senior/Junior Nationals and Russian Cup Final.
For example, both Tsurskaya and Radionova had bronze medals at GP events but Polina was 5th at Nationals and Elena almost finished out of top-10
