I finished Adolescence, which I found very good.

Now I'm very late to the party, but I finally started White Lotus, so wonderful, I love it.

And gonna watch the 2nd season Last of Us, when it starts soon.
If Adolescence doesn't walk away with multiple Emmy awards I will eat my hat. Everything about it is excellent. The subject matter, the script, the actors ---that boy is going to be a star. But I was especially blown away with how it was filmed in one take. Just the preparation and rehearsal needed for each one hour episode must have taken weeks, particularly the episode at the boy's school.

Yeah, it's already available here, I wasn't sure with all the time zone difference to the US, when it would be available in Germany.
I enjoyed the first episode!
It was yesterday here. I was confused and thought it was today.

I really enjoyed it too. But I found out a pretty big spoiler and now I'm annoyed with myself. :D

9-1-1 ..... so I can't image you aren't already spoiled if you watch but just in case ...
what the hell?? Bobby? They killed off BOBBY??!!! Bobby is the main character! He's the one the show was based on! I get the writer decision of firefighters are in this dangerous job and need to show that (and lawdy knows there have been some ridiculous hazards they have had on this show where no one got killed), but BOBBY??? If they wanted to kill off a firefighter who wasn't just a walk-on day player character, kill off Buck! Buck annoys the hell out of me! Not BOBBY!!! :wuzrobbed plus I love Peter Krause and he was just as shocked as everyone else so it's not like he wanted to leave the show! I am so mad! :wuzrobbed :wuzrobbed

Do you need to have watched anything before this? I've only seen the movies (except for The Rise of Skywalker).
I think watching a 1st season recap would be helpful. I watched the first season and even I couldn't keep some of these characters straight!

Here's one I liked:

Feature about the new "Pride and Prejudice"

It has a big job to stand up to the 1995 BBC version. Though I immediately googled their Darcy and visually I think he's a decent choice. Remains to be seen if he has the sufficient gravitas to pull it off. I fear Colin Firth set the bar extraordinarily high.

F1: The Academy drops on Netflix on May 28. It's a behind-the-scenes documentary series following the drivers racing in the all-female F1 Academy series last season. I suspect this will be less in the style of Drive to Survive and more in the style of F1's in-house produced Chasing the Dream (which follows the F2 season).

Just finished it after I got another free 3 month subscription for TV Plus. This show was fantastic! Loved all the characters, even smaller characters like Summer and Derek and Derrick are fully realized in their ways.
I loved Shrinking, too, and will probably rewatch the second season finale soon. I got a deal for Apple TV+ for $2.99/month for 3 months. I’m also going to rewatch Ted Lasso, because every time I watch it again I notice things I missed the previous times…

More on Etoile. Meanwhile, I'm watching the first episode with a crazy environmentalist ballet dancer from Paris and Simon Callo who plays an arms dealer who will fund a talent swap between NYC-based and Parisian dance companies.

Caught my former classmate and ballet school cohort in the second episode of Etoile. It's Didi Conn's distinctive voice that I recognized before her appearance(Formerly of Grease fame as Frenchie).

Meanwhile, I'm only watohing one episode at a time becaue they are rather intense and frenetic. Not sure about this yet because the characters all seem to be neurotic.

I was so excited for Etoile and I didn’t care for the first episode at all. 🙁 You nailed it with the words frenetic and intense. I loved Mrs Maisel and Gilmore Girls so I can do the Palladino snappy dialogue, but this was just too much. Luke Kirby’s character felt like Lenny Bruce on speed. I don’t know if I even want to attempt the second episode.

I’m on episode 4. It gets better.

I felt the same way after episode 1 but I love Luke Kirby so I had to keep watching.

I'm giving it a chance.

The looks that Lenny would give Midge still occupy a large space in my brain 😄😍 so I need more Luke Kirby in my life. I’m glad to hear it gets better, and I will give it another shot!

I’ve been a fan of Luke Kirby since “Slings & Arrows” which is a similar concept to “L’Etoile” but based on a Theatre company in Canada.

It’s very funny. IIRC, Luke plays a Hollywood actor who comes to do a role in the theatre to boost sales.

The movie “Take This Waltz” is when I really fell in love with him (romantic comedy with Michelle Williams) and I was a total goner with his scenes with Midge.
