I’ve been a fan of Luke Kirby since “Slings & Arrows” which is a similar concept to “L’Etoile” but based on a Theatre company in Canada.

It’s very funny. IIRC, Luke plays a Hollywood actor who comes to do a role in the theatre to boost sales.

The movie “Take This Waltz” is when I really fell in love with him (romantic comedy with Michelle Williams) and I was a total goner with his scenes with Midge.

I’ll have to find that movie!

“Slings & Arrows” is a mini-series that Luke has a smaller role in.
It’s an ensemble cast and he’s not one of the leads but has many scenes with Rachel McAdams.

He has a lead role in “Take This Waltz.”

They are both Canadian productions.

The movie is on MAX! I might have to watch that tonight instead of Etoile 😄

One benefit of having to buy a new iPhone is the included 3-month subscription to Apple TV+. I'm catching the 2nd season of Shrinking (love it) and laughing through The Studio (so well written!) and have Severance to check out next.

After episode 4 of “L’Etoile” it feels like this show doesn’t quite know what it wants to be.

Lots of ballet in this one though as both NY and Paris kick-off their seasons if viewers want to see that.

In order or ranking from best to least so far, I’d say the episodes are:

3,2,4,1

I watched one episode of Severance and stopped. I have a couple of movies I want to watch, and I'll continue slowly re-watching Ted Lasso.

Yay - another fan of 'Slings and Arrows'. It's a great show. I loaned S1 to a friend who works for a theatre company and they immediately went out and bought the full set and loved it all, so I gather it's also quite true to life despite being ostensibly a comedy.

The racing docos just keep coming for Netflix.

The Seat is dropping May 5 and follows the decision of Mercedes to put teenage hotshot Kimi Antonelli in the seat vacated by Lewis Hamilton when he left for Ferrari.

Trailer:

I have deeply mixed feelings about this one. I like Kimi, and it is evident he is worthy of at least some of the hype that has surrounded his arrival in F1. But at the same time, this is a lot of hype and pressure on an eighteen year old, and bringing out a documentary before he's even completed half a season in F1 - we're just five races in - is a fine way to start seeing people turn on him.

Toto Wolff has been searching for his supertalent since he lost out on Max Verstappen. He seems to think he's found it in Kimi but I would hate to see this fine young man crushed before his career ever really got going.

I watched Take This Waltz last night, and while Luke Kirby was delicious, Michelle Williams irked me to no end lol. I watched the movie Babygirl over the weekend, and this felt like a tamer version until the last twenty minutes.:lol:

Yep. That movie is 100% Luke Kirby. :swoon:

I wanted to slap Seth Rogan and Michelle Williams.

But I figure if a movie can bring out emotions like that it must be well written/acted or something. Lol

Episode 5 of L’Etoile has Luke Kirby eye candy. Yum
