Just finished The Crown’s Season 6 (and therefore the series). Because its been just three days since it’s release, I will put my review in spoilers.

They didn’t do Harry any favors with how he was portrayed, did they?

I was overall fine with how they showed the beginning of William & Kate’s relationship with each other itself but the idea of Kate’s mother pushing the relationship just seemed……odd?

Was anyone else wondering if they were going to have an episode with how the Queen had the Star Spangled Banner played outside Buckingham Palace after 9/11? I’m actually relieved that they didn’t put that it in there.

All the stuff with Mohamed Al-Fayed’s conspiracy theories about Diana & Dodi’s deaths and the investigation also just seemed odd in how they were presented, IMHO.

So……did Elizabeth II actually consider abdicating after Charles & Camila’s marriage?

The discussion that Prince Philip & Queen Elizabeth have with each other at the end of the final episode was very sweet.

I’m overall glad that they ended the series at the time that they did - I would not have liked for the series to show time during the “Waity Katie” fiasco - or some of the other stuff that’s happened since with Harry (and then also with Meghan).

I'm in the middle of watching Julia season 2 on MAX, having zoomed through season 1. She had quite a life, with things previously unknown to me; especially about the beginnings of WBGH. IMO, It's a great watch.

A very easy binge watch at only 6 episodes per season. Not sure if/when a season 3 will be filmed.

Have been watching an old detective series from the early 1970s called Streets of San Francisco. It stars a very young almost unrecognizable Michael Douglas. It’s on YouTube and can be seen for free.

The new docuseries WWII From the Front Lines on Netflix is really great. Some of the footage is incredible. I don’t watch many war documentaries but this one puts you right in the action. I’m also learning things about the civilians involved that I didn’t know.

If you want another quirky Australian show try Rosehaven. Don't think it is on Netflix but it might be on another streaming service.

The other one I would recommend which is on Netflix here in Australia but not sure if it is international is Utopia. You could say it is a The Office type show without the documentary style.

Snagged another free 3 month trial with Apple TV+ yesterday. Best Buy, just add it to your cart and then you get an email to redeem with Apple. I had tried in June and it told me I’d already used all my free trials. But I tried again yesterday and it worked. For new and qualified returning subscribers. I hadn’t subscribed since around May this year.

I’m watching Dr Death season 2 on Peacock. Exterior of Mandy Moore’s character’s apartment was filmed at my building in Brooklyn which is pretty cool. Even though I was already familiar with this story and am a physician, some of the scenes are shocking and tragic. This series is really well done.

Other than those, Hamilton, and the latest Indiana Jones movie, any 'must see' recommendations? Obviously nothing that's multi-season as I only have until 8 January, and although I'm a science fiction fan I don't need to see any more Star Wars.

I would still watch Andor even though it's "Star Wars" because it's very different from regular Star Wars and also very good.

There is plenty of MCU stuff to watch. I loved Ms Marvel but I think it will not hit everyone the same way it hit me. Secret Invasion was crap and She-Hulk was pretty bad too. Wandavision was weird in all the best ways and it doesn't look like there will be a second season so that makes it stand-alone, right? The What If series is fun and each episode is stand-alone.

Also, you should get Hulu too and there are lots of movies and series on there. If there are movies you want to watch and haven't yet, they may be on there.

So you're saying the 35 seasons of Simpsons is out.

I would recommend Only Murders in the Building. Three seasons at 10 episodes per season if you have the time. It was originally on Hulu but it's one of the shows they've added to Disney +

The Retirement Plan was a fun Nick Cage movie. Entertaining enough to pass the time.

Buzz - I think Die Hard is on every streaming platform here. It was heavily promoted on all the 'Christmas Movie' lists.

Passing on all things MCU - I haven't been able to get into most modern superhero films/series. I still think Superman is Christopher Reeve.

I did remind Mr Bunny Hop that Simpsons was now only on Disney+ so if he wanted to catch up on the most recent ones this is his only chance.

ETA: Oh, Disney has Firefly. That will do nicely. I have it on DVD, but I'll take any excuse to watch Firefly.

I just finished Lessons in Chemistry on Apple TV and I really loved it! I found it very charming - Brie Larson is great in it.

Speaking of Only Murders in the Building - ABC is going to air the first season starting on January 2nd.

The three Doctor Who 60th Anniversary specials (the reason for the Disney+ trial) with David Tennant were very good. I'd stopped watching Doctor Who several years ago (realised it was no longer aimed at me, and didn't want to be that person who only watched to complain), but I really enjoyed these.

Also watched the Christmas special introducing Ncuti Gatwa as the new Doctor. It was fine too, but not so good I'll feel like I'm missing out by not seeing it in future.
