Did anyone watch The Fall of the House of Usher? Oh my god, I loved it! I thought the framing was perfect, I loved the monologues, and I just loved it. It was gory but I didn't think it was too gory but then, I've seen both Suspiria movies, so take that as you will. I spoiled myself, so I knew going in what was going to happen, and yet, I was still touched, I still cried. I am going to watch it again the week of Halloween. This was my first Flanagan series but I think loved it because of the literary references and Poe.
I few things I noticed was music to "Figlio Perduto" played during some of Frederick's scenes. Thanks to Wikipedia, I know it's Beethoven, but I know it better as "Figlio Perduto" by Sarah Brightman, and damn, I think the lyrics fit. When Madeline told Arthur to bring Verna's eyes to her, I immediately thought of Bai Ling's character from The Crow. Metaphorically speaking, I thought Juno was Rappacini's daughter.
Side note: I need to spoil myself because I stressed out if I don't. I need to know what's going to happen.
Oscar winner George Clooney and other top Hollywood stars have offered $150 million to the SAG-AFTRA actors union as part of a proposal to end the actors' strike as it nears its 100th day.
I just finished watching one of the stranger Cinderella versions I've ever seen. It's called Once Upon a Crime. It comes from Japan but is in English as well. Red Riding Hood is a detective traveling through the land and solved a murder at the time of Cinderella meeting her prince. It is a fairy tale/murder mystery/satire mashup all in one. I still don't know what I think of it. It was interesting to watch once.

The flower moon is getting eclipsed by Taylor Swift. Martin Scorsese’s “Killers of the Flower Moon” earned $9.4 million from 3,628 theaters on its opening day, a figure that includes $2.6 million in Thursday previews. The epic-length historical drama is now projecting a finish of $23 million over the three-day opening frame, tracking behind the second weekend of Swift’s “Eras Tour” concert film.
All hail the power of Taylor Swift. I'm actually kind of surprised by this. I would have thought Scorcese's newest would have had more box office oomph.
I think young people would rather watch their favourite celebrity on stage than watch a movie about a historic crime. Plus there is also the actor’s strike.
Negotiations scheduled Wednesday between SAG-AFTRA and the studios didn’t happen after all — and everyone’s good with that. “It’s a step in the right direction and the negotiating committee i…
I recently started watching For All Mankind on Apple and have bliwn through 2.5 seasons quickly. The space action is so good and love the characters. The score is one of the best TV scored I’ve ever heard and would be amazing for skating. It’s so powerful, emotional and sweeping.
As much as it has to suck for them to still be out of work, I'm glad that the execs have not beaten the actors down and that they as a group are still sticking to their guns. Among other issues that make me cringe, I definitely wouldn't want some big wig millionaire using my image via AI for any and all projects without my consent while not getting paid for it either.

Yeah, the AI aspect of this is huge. The actors can't afford to give in. Who would ever want to work on a project knowing their image could be used for any and every AI-generated project going forward, without being compensated and even without their consent? Oi.
The crazy thing about the AI portion is that AI isn't really there to do this, not well enough for a major motion picture anyway. So the studios are being greedy about technology that doesn't even exist. Or maybe they don't care that the results are still kind of crappy and noticeable??
EXCLUSIVE: A new proposal from the studios to try to end the 113-day-old SAG-AFTRA strike has just been delivered to the guild. The actors guild and the AMPTP have set further negotiations for this…
Do you listen to Fireside Al read this story on Christmas Eve on CBC? We do it almost every year- I never get tired of it (although this version seems to be Hollywoodized somewhat).
Just binge-watched All the Light We Cannot See. Good acting but so many standard war movie tropes. Apparently a lot of this replaced the stuff in the novel.
