Fall 2022-Summer 2023 New/Returning TV/Streaming Shows

It is confirmed that Marvel will not be in Hall H at Comic Con this year because of the writer’s strike and because the actor’s union also plans on striking soon.

My little brother visited this past week and we have a hard time finding something to agree on to watch. My mom and I can find something together, mom and brother together, brother and me together, but the three of us? Nope. So we decided to just take a chance and watch something completely new that had basically no reviews and we landed on Panhandle, mainly because it had the actor who played Lenny Bruce from Mrs Maisel, one of the few shows we all watched. While I would not call it great by any means, it's fun. Think of it as a mixture of Psych, Monk, and Bloodlines. It does the Florida stereotypes really well, and as someone who did briefly live in the Panhandle, I appreciated its ridiculousness. My brother at one point said "this is so over the top." And I had to say...err...no. Accurate. The word you are looking for is accurate. I'm a traitor to my generation as I am one of the few females who does not enjoy murder shows, serial killers, or Datelines, with the exception of Bones. The violence/murder in this is like Bones--not really gruesome, and if it is gruesome, it's almost cartoonish/humorous. If you're looking for something quirky, bloody, and amphibious, this is your show. Perfect for summer. No brains required.

I tried to watch this because I have a huge crush on Luke Kirby, but it was too bizarre for me. I’ll go back to rewatching Mrs. Maisel.

I'm currently watching a lot of easy entertainment shows, the 4th season of "Never have I ever", which is cute as always.

And I watched the first episode of FUBAR, it was a lot more fun than I expected. Not bad except for Arnies exaggerated Austrian accent. I thought the trailer was really crap, since I had no idea what the show is even about after watching it.
Lots of German reviews seem to complain that the show is old-fashioned.
Of course it's old-fashioned, Arnold Schwarzenegger is old and a bit old-fashioned, it's quite unlikely Netflix would show him in a show that's totally 2023-esque and if they did it certainly would probably seem really absurd.

So….because I apparently have this need to see this trainwreck through, I watched the first two episodes of the second season of And Just Like That…

Well, so far it’s not worse (which is a low bar)….except for one thing…..

So…I wondered what they were going to do with Stanford Blatch since Willie Garson’s passing….so are they going to just keep saying he’s in Japan??? WUT??!!

I still can’t believe that they brought back Samantha and Aidan….

The second season of "Is it Cake?" — titled "Is It Cake Too" — was just released on Netflix, and I admit, I binged it yesterday (eight episodes per season). This one is pure, fluffy fun. And some of the cake creations are mind boggling.

Just a reminder in case anyone missed it in the TV Alerts, section, but a "docuseries" about Rory Flack coaching an ISI Synchro Team previews tomorrow on WE TV. The preview suggests a lot of "drama" but I'm going to check it out.

If anyone is a Catherine Tate fan, her latest show Queen of Oz is a hoot. I just started watching it last night.

The show is about a member of the British royal family who is so out of control that they decide to send her to Australia to be the Queen of Australia.

I think it is on in the UK and Australia.

Glamorous is light, fluffy, frothy summer fun. If Emily in Paris and The Devil Wears Prada had a baby, this would be it. And since it's NOT a Darren Star vehicle (although it really should have been), the characters are actually likable. The lead isn't quite as vapid as Emily or Carrie, but the main point is still THE 'FIT.

I was catching up on Strange New Worlds and also watched the 4 episodes of the Ready Room that went along with the series. In the most recent one, the guy who plays Pike is on video for the interview, from his home. You can see his dog sleeping in the background. I was hoping Wil would ask about the dog but he didn’t. The guy has a nice family room, though.

You know what saves this show? The fact that the network ran “The Idol” at the same time. I watched some of the finale and it remains horrible. Maybe it will be one of those “it’s so bad it’s good” shows. Just awful.

I really want to watch Ready Room, but it doesn't seem to be available in Australia. I did find a couple on YouTube at one point but looks like they've been removed.

It’s not even good for that reason. It’s like they have forgotten why fans liked each of the main characters. What they’ve done to Miranda is beyond horrific. It’s like she’s a completely different person - and not in a remotely good way.

The Lincoln Lawyer is back!! Still love all the characters except Neve Campbell. Normally I'm OK with Campbell but she's just wrong in this part. Or maybe it's how they've written the part--she seems petty and her anger misplaced. Creepy, sleazy client just as creepy and sleazy as last year! I didn't know how they'd follow up but man they did.
