I am all in for Stephen and Joey (my faves who dance the best amongst those I like) along with Jenn and Danny! Phaedra is also really fun to watch too. Not a fan of Chandler and other past ringers like her. However, I suspect from social media likes/engagement that Chandler will be the season's shock early elimination.

I'm not sure how real housewives are considered to be stars. Are they scraping the bottom of the barrel now? I don't think Anna (criminal) & Phaedra (housewife) are stars. I saw Phaedra on another show & she struck me as smug & entitled. I do like her fashion sense though.

Re the criminals, there have been many. The first I remember is L’il Kim in the late 2000s.

I'd say they've been scraping the bottom of the barrel for a while now. There are always some good ones every year, but usually about half of the cast would be considered "stars" only in the loosest sense of the definition.

Only good things about Gene were that be objectified the men almost as much as the women (as horrible as it is), and though ridiculous, he kept the scoring interesting by doing his own thing with it.

It was fun to see Joel Hoekstra (guitarist). He's a Minnesota boy. I got to know him during his days with Rock of Ages on Broadway.

And Lil' Kim was a sweetheart when she was on the show too. I was quite surprised how soft spoken, funny and sweet she was; I had prejudged her to be quite the opposite.

I think I'd classify Brooks and Gleb as an 'attention grabber' team. Which sucks, because she actually has some ability, but Gleb is not teaching her correctly, and they're trying to focus too hard on being sexy and promoting their 'sex appeal'. If you have to keep telling people your chemistry is hot, it probably isn't.

I finally watched this episode last night & I enjoyed Gene. His scores made as much sense to me as Carrie Ann's ever do.

Now that the 2 old timers are gone it's time to whittle down some more "stars". I enjoy this show more when the cast isn't so large. Even though I hate the practice of voting before they even perform, the best 5 or 6 dancers usually wind up in the last 5 or 6 spots.

Stephen is my favorite right now. I don't know enough about ballroom to know if he's actually good but his smile is so contagious. He & Rylee are adorable.

I think it would have been kinda hysterical if Ilona could have hauled Alan up on her shoulder for "The Lift". Girl got some muscles and Alan's not that big. I bet she coulda done it.

I think Dwight should be gone next, as he's definitely the weakest dancer left, however he and Daniela have a contemporary, which she excels at, and will incorporate lots of lifts - her Halloween contemporary with Iman was very popular, and I expect the same thing this week.

I think we'll get a 'surprise' elimination this week. Either the Bachelor/ette votes lead to fans choosing one or the other, and likely Jenn gone. Or people not seeing improvement in Stephen, getting tired of how the show keeps pushing how 'inspiring' Ilona is, or not 'connecting' with Chandler (or not wanting another trained dancer).

The only ones I think are safe this coming week are Danny and Joey (who's a good dancer, good personality, and will now be receiving the Val fan votes due to Jenna), and maybe Chandler, as she starts the week with bonus points.

I didn't really like Ilona this week; I thought she was over-scored. Dwight turned out to be better than I expected originally but I agree he should go along with the Bachlorette (can't remember her name). I'm not ready for Stephen to go just yet as I find him & Rylee to be entertaining even though not the best.

Don’t know Tate but CA throwing out all the 10s to dances that didn’t deserve it and then switching was ridiculous, even on show where we know judges’ score are meaningless.

It’s also clear to mean she is deeply uncomfortable judging Ilona and that’s the nicest way I can put it. I love Ilona.

Sorry to see Jenn go, I thought her and Stephen were hilarious when they found out they were dancing against each other.

Joey’s reluctance to be “an old creepy guy in love with his puppet” was funny.

My favourite dance was Rylee and Stephen - poor guy had to dance the full show in that makeup.
