Too bad it's not the '70s, FSU might finally get that Captain&Tennille medley program we've always yearned for.

We might even get Escape (the pina colada song).Too bad it's not the '70s, FSU might finally get that Captain&Tennille medley program we've always yearned for.
Australian 80s music was amazing! Most people outside Australia may not have heard of Mental as Anything but they were a fabulous 80s band. I would dare any Scandanavian team to skate to Berserk Warriors

On the other hand if a team wanted to get really political they could skate Midnight Oil.
Australian 80s music was so good.
A Tesla/Elon tribute to “Muskrat Love”?Too bad it's not the '70s, FSU might finally get that Captain&Tennille medley program we've always yearned for.
And which team did most at FSU envision "doing it to them one more time because once was never enough...for a fan like them?"Too bad it's not the '70s, FSU might finally get that Captain&Tennille medley program we've always yearned for.
What is wrong with all Twisted Sister?Don’t hold your breaths, people. We may get all the Boy George, Twisted Sister, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
I'll take an 80s theme over the Argentinian Tango any day.
Don't forget the enormous glasses! But yeah, I don’t get the 80’s theme…we are gonna get all kinds of tacky. I still cringe at my wild permed hair and shoulder pad fashion I wore back then.
Sadly it's ice dance so they'd probably be more George Michael Bluth than George Michael himselfI would love Prince and George Michael, specially if we get a George Michael look a like.
I think they are doing 80s to appeal to their base audience and judges (those of use who remember how fabulous the 80s were.)![]()
Yep. I think so too.I thought it was a shoutout to the average age of many of the judges.
(j/k)
Prince's music is great for the lower level pattern dances.I guess you could also throw in Virtue/Moor’s Prince SD from 2018 as another successful 80s SD that may have influenced this.
Men at Work!Australian 80s music was amazing!
I can’t believe I permed my hair. It’s naturally curly but maybe I wanted it bigger? When I see ‘80s movies and how they made attractive women like Melanie Griffith and Molly Ringwald look awful, I’m terrified for next season’s costumes and hair.I think the 60’s had the best music and fashion and has never been matched. Personally I would love some beehive hair with mini dresses and color block costumes….and white go-go boots ala Jill Trennary’s “These Boots Are Made for Walking”! But yeah, I don’t get the 80’s theme…we are gonna get all kinds of tacky. I still cringe at my wild permed hair and shoulder pad fashion I wore back then.
Agreed. Tainted Love is as different from the original as Disturbed’s SOS.I don't see why '80's covers shouldn't count, if they're done in a style typical of the '80's.
Love the Pretenders. “Talk of the Town.” Black leatherette. Haircut and eye makeup to match. Bring it on!I’d love to see someone use The Pretenders but I don’t know if “Brass in Pocket” is ice dance material. Oh well—Madonna has a lot of material.
There are some good songs to use from the 80's--THIS may not be one of them but I would beLove the Pretenders. “Talk of the Town.” Black leatherette. Haircut and eye makeup to match. Bring it on!
In case you've missed it, those enormous glasses are back right now. Along with high-waisted pants and mom jeans. And white sneakers.Don't forget the enormous glasses!![]()
They are. I don’t wear the giant ones, but I can’t believe I used to wear frames that were so small hahahIn case you've missed it, those enormous glasses are back right now. Along with high-waisted pants and mom jeans. And white sneakers.
Me too! But mine was dead flat without a perm. Still, the poodle perm looked bad. Later I got more of a wave than a perm and that was better. Until my roots grew out. So I just chopped it all off and that works okay.I can’t believe I permed my hair.
I just got new glasses so, no, I haven't missed it.In case you've missed it, those enormous glasses are back right now.
Pretty in Pink programI can’t believe I permed my hair. It’s naturally curly but maybe I wanted it bigger? When I see ‘80s movies and how they made attractive women like Melanie Griffith and Molly Ringwald look awful, I’m terrified for next season’s costumes and hair.
Awesome soundtrack/decent moviePretty in Pink program![]()
Guilty as charged, although I only did it once. (And I did not have permed / teased bangs.)I don't think there was a woman or girl under, say, 40 who DIDN'T perm her hair.![]()
GenXer with 2 cats and no kids, but....I am a GenXer with a cat![]()
I completely agree - am not nostalgic for the 80s at all. I can kind of tolerate some of the music now because nostalgia but there's very little of it in my playlists. So I am a Gen Xer who is NOT excited about the 80s theme because, like, this music was not that great the first time around?!![]()
