For the Japanese, we know that Team KoKo’s coaches (from I.AM) will be there. Perhaps also Bruno Marcotte for Miura/Kihara? Maybe the coaches of Kaori and Wakaba too?

Definitely! Karen is in Paris with her mom. It looks like Alexa's sister and her family are going to Paris also.

I suspect Peacock will have it in the “gold zone” mashup program that they run every day. It could get its own mini-event, like they do with highlights of certain athletes or races. We’ll just have to keep watching. USFS says 11am Eastern (10 am for me).

I re-tweeted the USFS post about the ceremony and tagged Peacock asking where we can find the tile - hopefully they'll respond and let us know where we need to be watching.

Apparently if you live in the US and have access to Peacock it will be broadcast. I have heard nothing about any other broadcasts but presume Japan will do something.

SOI just sent an email about the medal ceremony and said it will be aired on both Peacock and USA.

Are figure skating, equestrian, mens team and womens team ping pong, and gymnastics the only sports (winter or summer), that have a 'team' event, where scores accumulated by individual competitors (or in the case of figure skating, a pair team and dance team as well as singles skaters)...and those points or placements determine their final ranking and possible medal/podium placement? Can't think of another winter OLY sport aside from figure skating.

All other Olympic sports that come to mind that are defined as team sports, truly are teams....ie rugby, water polo, ice hockey, soccer, basketball, etc....the team competes as a unit to play their sport one match/game at a time.

Did the ISU see an opportunity to have more visibility for the figure skaters aside from their individual competitions of their two competitive programs, to have the athletes compete the same programs as a team? Wondering what was the origination of the idea of the team event for figure skating.....was it modeled after some of the summer OLY team events?

The team event was a bone to throw to Russia for Sochi while minimizing the number of additional athletes. It follows the pro and pro-am “team” models in cheezfeat skating.

A real team skating event would be synchro.
