A to Z Guide

Do we even know if fans are going to be allowed to be at Nationals in Nashville?
It would be BEYOND completely ridiculous if there are not FULL audiences, as by that time, anybody and everybody in the US will have long had access to the vaccine. We canNOT stay shut down to protect idiots who choose not to be vaccinated (those told not to be vaccinated by their physicians due to medical issues not withstanding, of course).

I don't think it's as cut and dry as this. Variants and related possible surges, length of vaccine efficacy, requiring proof of vaccination, etc. are all ongoing concerns.

Has anyone been to Bridgestone Arena? What row numbers do you think P2 and P3 would be?

There will be no reason for proof of vaccination by then. If someone chooses not to be vaccinated and they get very sick, that is on them! Those who are vaccinated will be protected. Beyond that, we have been existing in miserable circumstances for over a year. That is ENOUGH. Those who are still afraid can continue to stay at home if that is what they choose. Others have a right to live their lives freely! There is always a risk of dying when crossing the street, but we haven't all quit doing that, have we?

Just because someone is vaccinated does not mean they are miraculously 100% unable to get CV-19. Therefore someone vaccinated could still be a carrier and end up seriously infecting, possibly even killing, someone who has not gotten vaccinated. And just because an increasingly large percentage of the US population is getting vaccinated, that isn't true everywhere. Hence by next fall/winter variants may have made the original vaccines far less effective.

Yes, we're ALL "over" the pandemic. But the pandemic is far from over.

Anyway.... thanks everyone for sharing the information you've given us so far. It's much appreciated, and I hope too see many of my FSU friends once again in Music City. 🎶

Won't there eventually be an internal "passport" system to allow average folks to go to theatres, sporting events, restaurants, get on trains/planes, check into hotels, etc? I'm hanging on to my CDC card like my life depends on it until we get our internal passport cards (or whatever they'll be called).

Vaccines work and work to prevent transmission, serious illness, hospitalization, and death. Not like it matters, this is all meant to be permanent. Pretty pathetic way to-- I was going to write, live, but we do not live, just exist.

Speak for yourself. I am living the high life.

Anyway, I do think it's somewhat unreasonable to think that in Jan of 2022, we won't be having events with full arenas. We are already having baseball games with fans in the stands now. With vaccines, CV should become no more dangerous than the flu statistically. That doesn't mean no one will die. But the death will be kept to a level that people are comfortable with, similar to driving a car or leaving your house during flu season. (Driving is more dangerous than the flu, btw.) As for variants, I'm with Dr. Fauci on this one. They are being overblown in the media.

Variants are way overblown for sure in the media. Vaccines work great! I got mine two weeks ago! I am just one of those people afraid this will never end since we see so much fear-mongering and narratives that these AMAZING medical advances--and they ARE amazing--aren't good enough. No way, they ARE and we must demand to go back to normal.

Now if Nats happens I will 100000% be there with bells on since I'm mad I missed last year's (we were in the middle of dealing with our move to the east coast and I got sick with you know what). Always a fun birthday tradition and I love spending it with my FSU buddies (next year I will have been around here for 20 years, I joined when I was in high school, WHAT?). And this time Mini is desperate to join me.

What is this even supposed to mean?
That some people will absolutely never be satisfied and will advocate for life to be shut down until the end of all time, or until there is 0% risk from C-19. Those people need to get a clue that this will never be gone away. Ever. If they want to stay at home until the end of all time, that is fine, but other people have a life to get back to!

So to get this back on track... anyone bought their tickets yet? (Don't they go on sale today for Friends of Figure Skating?)

For those wondering about the Seating Chart and how far up the P2 seats go, I talked to someone at the Bridgestone arena and he said those P1 seats are AA and BB, then the P2 seats go up to about Row LL or MM, then the P3 seats go up from there to the top of the lower bowl.

A friend on FB just asked me about the email with the code for friends of figure skating to purchase tickets today. Seems he hasn't received his email.

If you are a friend of figure skating have you received the code to purchase tickets to Nashville?

The last email I received said FOFS tickets would go on sale at 2pm ET, so I'm guessing the link won't go out until closer to then.

Does anyone know, if I am not a member of Friends of Figure Skating, don't know why--think it's because daughter was--will I be able to purchase tickets ASAP, like today.

If your daughter is currently a FOFS and gets an email with a code, I would think that she would be able to purchase tickets on your behalf.

She's moved 6 times, went to grad school, got a new career, got married, had a kid, gave up skating so no longer a member.

Ironically lives in Nashville now...

Public sale starts next Monday.

The FOFS presale runs this entire week, so you may want to try emailing Brent Diedrich and see if an immediate donation would get you access.

Thanks @AnnM, I just renewed my old USFSA membership by calling my club of 50 years, got my old number, think it should work?

FOFS is a different membership than skating membership. It's for those who don't skate but want to support USFS, essentially a fundraising program. There is info on USFS website about it and what benefits the different tiers get, like presale codes. But skating members (like me) don't get that.

Think I have everything now, USFS and FOFS, just not in enough time, will take about 2 or 3-5 days for them to get organized from their end which is totally my fault. Will keep trying.
