2020 Russian Junior and Senior test skates

I enjoyed that so much. Mistakes aside, the girls looked strong and gorgeous out there. I want at least five of them to win the next Worlds. Is that too much to ask? :wuzrobbed

Btw, what happened to Sinitsina and Guliakova? I did hear about Guliakova's withdrawal beforehand, but not the reason.

Did they mention Gummenik's 98 in Russian on the state exams? That would be part of a drinking game if I was doing one - the Russian media was so proud of this, it was rather nice.

I hope I can watch later this afternoon, especially excited for pairs and ladies!

I will write some notes and impressions tomorrow after the long programs, but wanted to add one thing about masks and safety measures.
At the entrance they don’t allow you to enter the arena without a mask and a pair of gloves, so literally every person at the arena has this set. When you proceed to your sector and seats, stewards/volunteers also check if you have a mask on your face. I also saw how during the skates they came to some people in the audience and asked them to put a mask on, if they noticed that a person didn’t have it on/didn’t wear it properly.

The organizers try to do their best, it’s the people in the audience who don’t pay enough attention/are careless idiots :(

My favorite things- Kolyada's return, Medvedeva's step sequence, Trusova- all of it (I liked the program). Extra bonus for Boikova/Kozlovsky (love them!), Mishina/Galiamov's lift, Ignatov and Mozalev (just like I liked Trusova' program, I liked Mozalev's. His programs often have some WTH in them, and it works for him:))

I also really liked Shcherbakova and I love her music choice. About that- it is Massenet's "Elegie", which started as incidental music for a play and then Massenet rearranged it for voice/piano and cello/piano. The melody then got every instrumental arrangement possible (and I gather, was used in the ballet "L'histoire de Manon" which uses Massenet's music). However, it is NOT from Massenet's "Manon", which is an opera. The right way to label it is Massenet, "Elegie". Sorry for TMI.

I thought that it was Joshua Bell’s creation. ROTFL! 😝
