2022 Russian junior & senior (Sept. 24-25) test skates

I would sell my soul for Panfilova to work with Tutberidze's group once her foot injury is healed. The changes they've made with Tarazova's SBS jumps is amazing. Please. Let it happen.

T/M had a unicorn moment at the Olympics where they actually skated cleanly for once in a thousand years. Keeping that LP when there's no chance of repeating that moment is kind of disappointing. OTOH, I don't think they would have continued if the war/Russia ban hadn't happened. They don't have any chance of a career without any government funding right now.

The pairing swaps are still a work in progress. Oh, well, this is a good time for them to happen if they have to happen.

I'd been expecting Akhanteva/Kolesov to break up for years so I'm not surprised to see that Kolesov finally has a new partner. They are so new that they have no chemistry whatsoever, but at least their falls were synched well

When Moore-Towers was talking about how older single skaters could switch to pairs, she conveniently didn't mention how long it takes a pair team to actually gel together. Even Savchenko, Massot, Volosozhar and Trankov took 3 years to become a real pair team and they were all very experienced pair skaters. I figure she didn't mention that fact because she and Mariano never really did.

M/E have super cute personalities. Too bad they're coming of age at a bad time, I think they'd be pretty popular internationally.

Mishina's air position in the throws is textbook. She just let the second landing get away from her. Some new moves. Moskvina is just going to keep on going. It's a pity Galliamov is so shy and introverted.

Ok. Russian speakers what was that all about?

It was a lot of words so I may have zoned out  Wildly paraphrasing here, but Sasha thanked the crowd for coming out on the weekend to see them. Max asked Nastya if she was upset about her fall, and she said yes. He told her it was only a test skate. She said that she prepared well and then she and Sasha were joking about the fall a little bit. Max wished them clean programs from now on.

Yags tends to drone on with a lot of nonsense, I usually turn off the translations in my brain when he starts talking.

I am betting 5 bucks that he will again call Makar Ignatov the "sex symbol of Russian figure skating".

Telephone-ography
But I still don't understand the concept behind this program.
Is he James Bond? Or the Great Gatsby?

Trankov asks him who called him in the middle of the program.
Makar: "This is personal. But if you've seen the movie you know who calls."

Heh, I need someone to decode Evgeni’s program concept for me. I think I liked it? That smoky eye makeup is such a mess up close.
