2016 Academy Awards (Oscars) - Ceremony & Red Carpet

Rylance is a good actor and so nuanced in Bridge of Spies, but still when is Mark Ruffalo going to be rewarded? I guess that's the breaks.

I don't think it's an epic film, but I don't think it's bad at all. It's kind of standard good film making, IMO. I was very glad I went to see it. And, in a year when there were not a lot of great films, it was better than the majority of films I saw this year.

I thought it was so generic and nothing special, to be honest. Rylance was great, but that's about it.

And Daisy Ridley's dress looks even worse under the stage lights. No way that Ukrainian film is going to win.

"Amy" was the only nominee I saw in this category. I thought it was really well done, especially considering the fact that they obviously did it after she was dead.

I really want to see Amy. I hope it will be available soon on Netflix or some similar platform.

Awards Table (thus far)

1. Mad Max: Fury Road - 6
2. Spotlight - 1
= The Big Short - 1
= The Danish Girl - 1
= The Revenant - 1
= Ex Machina - 1
= Bridge of Spies - 1
= Inside Out - 1
= The Bear -1
= A Girl in the River - 1
= Amy - 1

I like how they've been handling the 'diversity' controversy. However, all the humor will only be worthwhile if they are actually serious about trying to be more inclusive without hastily instituting rules that exclude older voters and don't effectively address the real issues.

Amy is a great film, such a beautiful singer, and sad to see her downfall. The movie was very poignant and reminds us what we lost

Uh...wow. A speech from the president of the Academy on inclusion? (however, -1 for the illusion fabric on her dress, and another -1 for the earrings that looked like toys out of a gumball machine)
