2015 - 2016 TV Season

The Vikings premiere was great. Some really good moments in it. I still don't like Lagatha with Kalf.

Just saw the ratings and that the X-Files finale had a demo number of 2.4. Considering that NCIS is the only other scripted TV show I know which manages to get ratings above 2.0 nowadays, I wonder if that is reflective of the need to adjust the criteria for ratings. Everyone I know who watched the original run was in their teens back then, so we're all falling right into the demo numbers now. Yes, the change in how we watch TV makes a difference as well, still, I think this proves that people still watch TV like they used to and it's not only a matter of how people watch TV. But someone definitely needs to give that rating system a major overhaul.

Is anybody still watching Grey's? I hope this is the last season. After that long "winter" break, I didn't even remember who the new people who I already did not like were or what was going on. And last night's episode was all about April and Jackson with confusing flashbacks of things we never saw. I thought they were already divorced and moving on. And then the "shocking" ending. Oh no. I said out loud "I just wasted an hour on this?"

I will watch tonight. I hated the first episode where she's knocked out everywhere and can't hear or talk.
And I really don't get where they're going without Derek. Christina leaving was wrong. I hate Derek's sister.

Has anyone else been watching You, Me and the Apocalypse? I'm really enjoying it, it's a great mix of comedy and drama, plus lots of familiar faces. I tend to prefer post-apocalyptic movies/TV to the ones that actually take place during the apocalypse, but this one does the flashback thing very well and I'm interested to see how it all will tie together. It's a limited series, only 10 episodes, but I'm guessing there's potential for a 2nd season if this one goes well.

I'm a couple of weeks behind though -- I'd missed the first 2 episodes so had to find them online before continuing with the NBC broadcast. The online ones I found were from Sky in the UK, and they're less prudish about four-letter words than American broadcasters are. And Rob Lowe's character has quite the potty mouth! It doesn't look like there's much lost in the bleeped version though, so long as they're only bleeping and not cutting content.

I'm disappointed that Angel From Hell got cancelled. I wasn't sure about it at first, but it built each episode and the cast clicked more and the writing got funnier each episode. Jane Lynch was phenomenal and the supporting cast (especially Kyle Bornheimer) were all game to equal Lynch's energy.

Has anyone else been watching You, Me and the Apocalypse?

I was definitely interested in this one, but it airs up against American Idol. And neither show are available with my On Demand service, so I could only pick one. I guess I could search for and download Apocalypse, but that's too much to ask for me fro ma new show! :D

A new guilty pleasure I'm almost embarrassed to say I watch. :shuffle:

Has anyone been watching "Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments" on ABC Family/Freeform? I noticed it on Hulu and had to check it out. It's only on it's 7th episode. The CW would have been a good match.

I just finished today's episode of The Magicians. It was so good.
Alice and Quentin are falling in love,

I really started disliking this last episode of Lucifer; thought that if they continued down that road, it would turn into Castle (charming, play-boy like police consultant, trying to win over the female detective) and I ended up absolutely loving it! I really like the exploration of the character of Lucifer!

Has anyone seen Fuller House yet? It's so odd to see Netflix produce a traditional sitcom with a laugh track. I don't know why I'm watching it myself as I never liked the original show that much, and it's not like this one is particularly well-written or anything. Although some of the jokes are edgier than I expected...the ones in-between the corny family-friendly ones.

^ I haven't watched the last 2 episodes, but yeah, I was pretty disappointed with this season. A shame, considering how great the 1st season was.

Oh well, SHIELD returns next week. And it's been getting better and better!

I watched the premier of The Family last night (it premiered a night early on CTV for scheduling reasons I guess). Pretty good start. The premise is not exactly original, but it has some actors I really like (Joan Allen, Allison Pill, and Rupert Graves -- as an American!) so I'll continue with it to see where it goes.

I see it continues in its regular timeslot on Sunday. I really don't know why they do it like that. And Sunday is already so full! Thank goodness for PVRs ...
