2015 - 2016 TV Season

Agent Carter! :cheer2:

I'll give Legends of Tomorrow a go too, though I've never found the DC universe as interesting as the Marvel one. I really couldn't get into Flash or Arrow at all.

Regarding awards season: I know Sly Stallone is a sentimental favorite for film. In the television world I'm glad to see Christian Slater winning awards for his work in "Mr. Robot." I liked him very much as a young man in "Heathers" and "Pump Up the Volume" in the 80's and I'm glad he has remained a working actor into middle age. I think winning the awards now must feel very satisfying.

Finally binge watched all 8 episodes of "Agent Carter" on Netflix over the weekend before the new season starts. I really enjoyed it. More than i thought i would. Jarvis is one of my favorites on the show.

Looking forward to "Legends of Tomorrow" and the return of "The 100".

Schitt's Creek is back - the first two eps were good, but ep 3 was hysterical. The show just got nominated for 14 Canadian Screen Awards (OK there's not a lot of choice  but still!) Orphan Black also got a pile of nominations.

Here's hoping Daniel Levy wins Best Actor - everyone is great in the show (except maybe Chris Elliot - never liked that guy and his character is not at all endearing in its stupidity), but Daniel (Eugene's son and a producer of the show) is the real standout. Catherine O'Hara fans should take note as well - as usual, she takes her character to a level of outrageous combined with what is actually a rather subtle and thoughtful portrayal, as few actors can.

I binged watch the Expanse(Syfy). Excellent series. Episode 4 is the most intense episode I've seen since season 1 of Orphan Black.

No joke! I finally saw it and thought it was a visual stunner. It also has a good cast and good source material and (thank God) good writers (also the book's authors) among others. I don't know how everything is connected but I am enjoying the journey. I like that it is not so far in the future: We are on Earth, Mars and in the asteroid belt but stop there. It is easier to separate groups and living spaces that way. I can't imagine how much they are spending per episode to get those special effects. Episode 4 alone looks like it cost millions.

Agent Carter is back! Agent Carter is back! Not sure how I feel yet about the move to Hollywood, the smaller circle of work colleagues (Daniel Sousa ALL THE TIME), or the love interest of the season but I really loved Haley Atwell, Briget Regan and James D'Arcy. And her wardrobe... oh, her wardrobe (with the exception of the very matronly blue blouse).

Looking at IMDB, I see that Ken Marino will be on - I believe he might've been the clown in one of the last scenes. Can't wait to see that evolve.

Apologies if this was posted earlier -- Netflix has announced premier dates for a bunch of shows:

Love(Feb. 11)
Fuller House(Feb. 26)
House of Cards(March 4)
Flaked(March 11)
The Ranch(April 1)
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt(April 15)
Marseilles(May 5)
Grace and Frankie(May 6)
Orange Is the New Black(June 17)
Stranger Things(July 15)
The Get Down(Aug. 12)

Jessica Jones has also been renewed for a second season, but no date announced.

Not sure if this goes here, but it is TV related. I know that women in Hollywood still have to fight for equal rights but I have to say, reading this, still shocked me. That they even dared to offer Anderson half is ridiculous, no matter the outcome. She should not have had to fight for it. http://tvline.com/2016/01/22/x-files-gillian-anderson-revival-salary-fight-equal-pay-fox/

Wow. Just wow. If somebody had mentioned this to me in casual conversation, I would not have believed them. And then googled it when I got home to prove they were wrong. So many things to say... Anderson's output since The X-Files ended has been far superior to the work of Duchovny. Plus she is an Emmy award winner, while Duchovny is not. I think if I had been her, my response would have been, "I decline your offer". And then I would have given them the cold shoulder. When they came begging later on, I would ask for a clause in my contract that says I get paid 25% more than whatever Duchovny gets paid. Then share that money with him later. Anderson is a far greater man than I will ever be. :D

On CBC, X Company returns on Wednesday. I really enjoyed this last season (aside from a couple of eye-rolling plot points), and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes this year.

Looking forward to Lucifer and GRIMM!!! :cheer2:

P.S.
Legends of Tomorrow was a bit of a let down but I will give it another try.

Agent Carter is back! Agent Carter is back! Looks like I'll be watching Agent Carter Sunday night. The CBS shows are reruns or not on because of a football playoff game on Fox. Weird.

Chicago Fire people .... at the end of Tuesday's episode, Gaby and Antonio talking at the bar and he asks how Chilly is because of what happened to her or something like that? What did he say? I couldn't hear a word he said. I wish they would cut down on the freaking background noise because that happens a lot. We know they are in a bar, we now bars are noisy, but its a freaking TV show and I want to hear what the actors are saying please! :P
