2015 - 2016 TV Season

So I just binge watched Season 1 of Mr. Robot and I have just one question ...... what the hell was that??!!!! That was the most bizarre show I have ever seen, I'm not quite sure what the hell is going on, yet strangely I cannot wait until Season 2 starts! Very very strange yet highly entertaining.

LOL, I'll let you know in a couple of weeks. It airs on Showcase here, and although I don't get that channel normally they have a free preview this month and will show a Mr Robot marathon next week. So I have my PVR set to go.

I love Mr Robot - it is definitely original! And Rami Malek is awesome! I almost didn't watch because I generally don't like Christian Slater, but I was bored one night last summer and gave it a chance. So glad I did!

If you have not already done so, don't read anything about the show before you watch it (you might stumble across spoilers since the season is over). And pay attention closely! I seriously need to go back and watch it again because its just so ...... bizarre!

"The X-Files: Re-Opened" is on Fox tonight at 7:30. What my TV listings has to say about this program:

In-depth interviews with Executive Producer Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson give a behind-the-scenes look into the journey of bringing this classic series back.

When does Major Crimes start back up? The stupid cable went out 40 minutes into the final episode (Monday before Christmas). They always show a rerun of the last show before the current one, so I need to watch for that. I have it programmed to DVR new ones, but I might not notice till it's too late to watch/record the one before it. And that show is not in the On Demand shows on TNT. Geez!!

Okay, has anyone watched the series Younger on TVland? I recently heard about it and I started watching the episodes on Demand. It is so good. The creator Darren Star is the same creator of Sex and the City. So the show is witty and super funny.

It is based on the book by Pamela Redmond Satran and the premise is of a 40 year old woman who is attempting to get back into the work force after deciding to be a stay at home mom and she is recently divorced.

For anyone watching Season 2 of Transparent, I must say there have been lots of sweeping changes already in the first few episodes with just about everyone (though I can't say I'm particularly surprised in any of what's happened to Sarah, Josh, Ali). Meanwhile, Maura's evolution continues to roll out slowly - Jeffrey Tambor's gentle treatment of the material throughout is the key element that keeps the show grounded.

I love that show despite my extreme dislike of Hillary Duff lol. All the other actors are great, and the dialogue is very smart and funny.

I watched Shannara Chronicles last night and tried to like it but it just seemed to be aimed exclusively at teens and it showed.

Good to know. It is showing here tonight and I was debating about whether to tape it or not. Decision made.

I liked it. Yes it seemed aired towards a younger crowd with the actors but the themes are good. I have not read the books but the character Amberle is very irritating. Very naive and ignorant. I can understand she lived a very sheltered life in the "kingdom".

Also, I feel the same with this show. The hunger games are aimed at a younger crowd but the themes are dark and very adult. You can watch the first 4 episodes online. The third and fourth episdose really progress the theme. Plus the preview of the season peaked my interest. I really really liked it. Plus it has one of my celebrity crushes in it, Manu Bennett.

I'm totally enjoying the full week of new Steven Universe episodes and tonight's episode was very heavy and ended on a cliffhanger that got me excited about tomorrow's episode. Then it turns out Cartoon Network stupidly showed a promo for next week that sort of spoiled the cliffhanger and I accidentally read what the promo showed on a discussion about tonight's episode. Ugh. Sort of ruined the excitement I had.

Speaking of SU, the UK is a bit behind the U.S. in airing episodes, but it looks like they censored an important gay subtext from a scene in one of the episodes and gave a BS excuse. It's causing a bit of an uproar with the viewers.

http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2016/01/0...ored-intimate-lesbian-dance-for-uk-broadcast/

The episode features a romantic dance between two female characters – Pearl and Rose Quartz – during musical number ‘What Can I Do For You?’.

However, a recent UK broadcast of the American animated show allegedly made edits to the scene, omitting moments where the pair can be seen dancing closely together and appear to be very intimate. . . .

Despite heterosexual kisses in the same episode, the changes tweak the scene’s meaning away from suggesting romantic attraction – with the pair seemingly just friends.

Those who watch the Chicago shows, what did you think of the crossover? I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed. It was advertised so hugely and I felt it was barely a crossover at all; there was no Fire in PD, the amount of PD in Fire and Med was what happens frequently without it being a crossover and PD was almost an unofficial backdoor pilot for a Law and Order Chicago. The only thing which continued was the story, which could have been done without calling it a crossover. I had hoped they would do it like they did the SVU-PD crossover.

That said, I still liked the story, and especially liked the Lindsay-Voight story in PD, I just wish they had handled it differently. And Severide's back! :biggrinbo

^ I only watch MD, so when I tuned in an saw that it was basically only 1/3 of the story and a bunch of new characters I didn't know, I just stopped watching. I really had no desire whatsoever to watch the other two shows just to get the full story.

I really enjoyed Fire and Med but found my attention wandering during PD. I agree it was disappointing that there was no Fire in PD and only the psychiatrist from Med in PD. That show didn't feel like a crossover at all. And there wasn't enough Halstead in the episode. :swoon:

I watched all three, even though I am new to them, just watched Med since it started. I'm glad Fire wasn't all about a literal "fire". Makes me too scared. Thought the Fire and PD people really looked like what you think of as tough Chicago guys, not like the "prettier" ones on other cop shows. :-) I'll keep watching Med and PD.
