Ice Skating Australia have added a section to their website detailing Katia & Harley's win in Taipei City.

It's insane to think that a team who scored 62+ points almost didn't make the FS, wow
They werent showed on our broadcast but I will wait for youtube.. SO THEY ARE IN THE OLYS !!!!! OMG!!!
No, they're not (yet). The 16 places handed out here include the multi-spots. So, for example, if China gets three spots, that's three of those places gone (16-3 = 13). Realistically, I think Katia and Harley would have to finish 10th or higher to qualify here, barring totally unforeseen circumstances.
Wait? Now what?
Just when you think you have learned something......
Australia's Brendan Kerry skated not only a season's best, but a career best short program. Performing flawlessly to 'Singing In The Rain', Kerry has comfortably qualified for the free skating.
Australia is really bringing it to these championships. All of our skaters have produced their absolute best.
Looks like this Sydney Channel 7 news piece on Brendan Kerry was filmed in conjunction with the show: https://twitter.com/7NewsSydney/status/855345619090538496There was a nice show at Macquarie ice arena on Thursday.
The reporter needs to learn the meaning of 'literally'.Looks like this Sydney Channel 7 news piece on Brendan Kerry was filmed in conjunction with the show: https://twitter.com/7NewsSydney/status/855345619090538496
Actually, that's Canterbury Ice Rink in the clip at the start of the story, not Macquarie.Kerry also uploaded this same news video on YT (includes a snippet of him skating at Macquarie as a youngster): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhM5OZODoJs
The Australian broadcaster - in perhaps the country with greatest love of Olympic sports - puts the Olympics behind a paywall? That's nuts. Plan a vacation to Canada, if you're not going to Korea (I believe the exchange rate is favourable right now) the CBC will have live streaming of all the events for free on its website - very good quality. Sometimes we just don't realize how spoiled we are in this country. He called him Brendan Kelly.
*facepalm*
I notice Brendan is starting to acquire that hybrid accent that Aussies can pick up when they live overseas.
Seven is undoubtedly reporting on this stuff because they're (unfortunately) the broadcaster of the Olympics here. I am not looking forward to finding the skating behind the paywall (as I'm sure will happen when the snow sports start.)
I wish I could have seen that show on Friday! Did anyone get to go?
