Fall 2024-Summer 2025 New/Returning/Streaming/TV Shows

Coming to Apple....a good filmmaker (Paul Greengrass), good stars (Matthew M, America F) and forest fires: "The Lost Bus."

For some reason when I saw the name I thought this was about the 1976 Chowchilla school bus kidnapping incident.

Trailer looks good! I wonder when “soon” is.

Thunderbolts* set to be released on digital on July 1st and blu-Ray on July 29th.

Watch the first couple of episodes of Ginny and Georgia because it reminds me of Mermaids. It didn’t hold my interest like I thought it would. The show struck me as creepy and over the top.

Netflix has a docuseries called “Trainwreck” and their latest episode, “Mayor of Mayhem”, is about Rob Ford, who was the mayor of Toronto ?? from 2010 to 2014. That story was ? and ?. Regardless of your political views, if you are interested in stories about local politics, I greatly recommend watching this. It’s fairly short (~48 minutes), but I thought it told the story really well and it seemed fairly nonpartisan.

For those of you who iike cooking competitions, Peacock is showing (I believe) two seasons of the Great British Menu(started in 2006). Much more intense than US based competitions(at least from a filming perspective). The chefs come from 8 regions (3 apiece) who have to cook a starter, a fish course, a,main dish and a dessert. Each regions go through regional finals and then cenralized finals in order to get a dish on the banquet. The season I'm currently watching is that associated with the 140 year anniversary banquet of the Wimbledon Championships.

I like Ginny & Georgia, but it always makes me a bit uncomfortable. I think that makes it a good show though. I just think the marketing is weird, Netflix tags it with for example "lighthearted" in German  I think it's quite dark and disturbing.

I just started season 3.

And am watching Kaulitz & Kaulitz season 2

I watched on tv Sunday nights and now streaming on Paramount+ - Tracker. A new take on who dunnit and disappearances, kidnappings and other crimes. Police take a back seat this time.

I'm watching the Australian comedy Offspring on Prime. I saw it years ago and then it seemed to disappear. I rarely watch anything more than once, but this is fun if you like an actor who does comedic neurosis well.

Because this has blown up everywhere…….

So Ryan Murphy’s next project is apparently “Love Story” (Hulu) about JFK, Jr. and Carolyn Bassett Kennedy and there’s some huge backlash after Murphy put out some “first looks”.

Stills from “Love Story”
Camera Test from “Love Story”

YEAH…..I have to agree. Right now it does look a bit cheap. Weren’t John and Carolyn known for wearing nothing but designers? They couldn’t have gotten actual vintage Prada, D&G, Gucci, etc. from the 1990s? ?

Also, the whole “look” right now seems a bit too much like……Lifetime. ?

I absolutely LOVED that show. Also, the characters’ houses are amazing!

I like soothing cooking shows which is why I LOVE The Great British Baking Show. I did find another British show I loved which was Britain's Best Home Cook which was wonderful but only lasted a couple of seasons. Now I've stumbled onto the Dish podcast on Youtube and am enjoying that. I would love if someone tried Britian's Best Home Cook again.

I haven't watched the latest ep yet but I am loving The Pitt too! Great show and really draws you in! :)
This is the most authentic medical series that I have watched anywhere. On season 1/episode 1. As I'm watching, I can't imagine how/the degree to which laypeople are comprehending the many layers this series offer.

Season 3 of Strange New Worlds on Paramount+ debuts on July 17. :cheer2:

Just suspended my Apple TV+ service, but will reactivate in September for the return of Shrinking and The Morning Show. I got another Apple gift card on sale with rewards points from my credit card. The credit card company does this once or twice a year. I may never have to actually pay for another month of Apple TV+, but in the meantime, it’s paying for my cloud storage.

"Patience" has been a wonderful surprise and a good mystery series on PBS. It is set in York and involves a group of detectives and a young woman who is autistic who works in their records department and has a talent for puzzles and pulling details together.

"Murderbot" is a half hour weekly show about an android and the people he is trying to protect. Entertaining half hour on Apple.

I'm also watching "Life on Mars" (British original.) I enjoyed the American version but it only lasted one season so it has been fun seeing the original from the UK. Seeing a police force circa 1973 and the mystery of why the main character travelled back in time to 1973 has been interesting.

I only watched the first episode and didn’t like it at all. I am enjoying Stick though, also on Apple TV+. I was meh on Your Friends and Neighbors but the movie The Family Plan was quite entertaining.
