I am one of the biggest MSW fans that there is and I’ve seen every episode probably no less than 10 times. I know Lansbury otherwise stated she wasn’t really a fan of a reboot probably around 10 years ago, so I’m not sure how to feel about either even if it is a movie.
Honestly I was more interested when it was Octavia Spencer but that was before Angela Lansbury died and when she was asked about it and said she didn't want to see a reboot at all I knew it was going to kill the reboot. Kind of disappointed to see them going full steam ahead so soon after Angela Lansbury died. I know it's been a couple of years but still.
I've been watching all of Murder, She Wrote properly (in order, not random episodes when I get the chance) for the first time since I was a kid and she really was fantastic. I just can't see Jamie Lee Curtis being at the level Angela Lansbury was. She's a good actress, sure. But Angela Lansbury was criminally underrated outside of Broadway before Murder, She Wrote. She was one of the best actresses of her era and Hollywood didn't know what to do with her.

Same. But I think Bates has always had a greater range than Curtis. No one should be surprised that she’s nominated for the Emmy - and I think she’s favored to win.
