Lime in the Coconut (sorry in advance when that gets stuck in your head). Man, I always hated that song. We are early in 1972 (which I love) on American Top 40, so at least more songs will come along to get that out of my head.

ETA - Ah............Long Cool Woman.

Wow - on the internet classic rock music station - Bad Side of the Moon by Elton John, that wasn't even on an album (it shows a picture of the album on the screen). It was the B side of Border Song. I don't have that 45, but the song was familiar. They play some obscure songs from albums, like Harmony (Yellow Brick Road), but the B side of a 45? Weird, but neat.

Really (15 minutes later) - Triad by CSNY. Written by David Crosby when he was with the Byrds. I looked it up when I heard the song for the first time ever on here, sung by Grace Slick. It was so pretty I started listening to the words. Whoa. Anyway, listen to that one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Aej9wmoQ7M

Wildwood Weed - Jim Stafford - #7 this week in 1974. I had to stop what I was doing and listen. Funny.

The internet radio just played You're the One by the Vogues right when I turned it on. I used to be obsessed with that song. Old lady memory - Shauna and her two older sisters used to pile all their new and old 45s in the removable lid of the record player. We had a thing where we would go through and pick out what records to stack on the turntable (imagine if you aren't old enough to know what I am talking about!) to play loud through the house. You could not complain about the other person's picks. And you could pick from their "discard" pile. If You're the One was in the bunch Shauna was going through, she would just hand it to me. Shauna's "always" song was Come on Down to My Boat, which was fine.

Tiny Dancer is playing now.

And I can't remember the number of the hospital scheduling I called two days ago.

And, IIRC, Petula Clark wrote the song - another reason to like it!

Rings by Cymarron. #29 this week in 1971. I still have that 45. They already played Maggie May, working it's way up the chart. It was the #1 song around my birthday, late October. That fall, I was helping my baton teacher teach classes at the YMCA. And we always heard Maggie May on the car radio on the way there and on the way home every week.

Good week in 1971. They just played It's Too Late by Carole King, I still have that 45, and then this -
It always gives me chills. It's 6 minutes long, but if you weren't alive in 1971 and never heard it, you should listen. I was spending a week at my cousin's house in Aberdeen and my aunt bought this record. We all gathered around the record player and kept playing it over and over. The label thing says 1973, but they goofed.

Heartbeat (It's a Love Beat) - DeFranco Family. #40 this week in 1973. I still have that 45.

Good grief. #26 Basketball Jones by Cheech and Chong. And #25 If You Want Me to Stay by Sly and the Family Stone. I have both of those 45s. I just looked at the list. I also have #11 - Brother Louie by the Stories. In the 70s, we used to buy records at Penney's at the mall.

Free As a Bird - John Lennon (with the Beatles - 1995)
The last song on Breakfast with the Beatles today.

Funny, I remember when they said the song was going to be played for the first time on the radio at noon on a certain day. I was working at NCR, and went to lunch at the usual 11:30 and made sure I was back in my car by noon and drove around till it came on.
