2022 Skate America

I am in section 108 - I'm hoping that is towards the end of the kiss and cry (unless they put kiss and cry at entrance of the building...) I still have no clue if I'm on the judges side or not.

108. Had 118, my preferred spot, in the cart, but lost them because I couldn't remember the stupid password I used when I bought the Gala tickets earlier this year. Stupid website.

Woohoo I'll see you all there! I'll be in Row H Section 115. If it's like Cranberry the judges should be in sections 114-115.

I'm sad about the food policy (no outside food and no food deliveries). I wasn't impressed by the meatless options and I depended on Chipotle delivery and the outdoor picnic tables... Maybe the selection and service has improved, or maybe I can get delivery to the office next door lol.

At Scott Hamilton's December show the lines were so long to park, get in, and get refreshments that the start of the show was delayed about 45 minutes. Hopefully USFSA will bring in a good amount of volunteers. Plan on early arrivals everyone!

There really is no bad seat in this arena, though. I was there for Cranberry Cup and at one point sat in the corner section in the row farthest from the ice—I could still see perfectly!

I like it in Vegas because of those factors but not sure I would go every year as I generally dislike Vegas (although off strip has been enjoyable).
The first time I went to Vegas, I don't think we hit the strip at all except to visit attractions. There is a ton to do in Vegas besides gamble and go to shows. Though a lot of it requires a car.

I drove for two years in Jerusalem, where the streets were laid out for camels and most drivers learned their skills in the army. And I still won’t drive in Boston unless it’s absolutely necessary.
I've driven in Boston, San Francisco, and NYC. Boston is the only place I feared for my life. Continuously.

The key to traffic safety is to drive predictably. So NYC was full of traffic and pedestrians often ignored traffic signals, but you could count on certain behaviors. SF is similar plus the locals are much more polite about things like letting you change lanes than in NYC. Boston was just madness. Continual madness.

The Skating club of Boston is in Norwood. You can travel to Providence and take 95. The traffic is really bad at rush hour, but other times just slightly congested. Other routes close by are 1 and 109.

I am waiting on USFS's EMS to update so I can ask about volunteering. Not sure if I should buy tickets yet? Used to get a few free tickets in exchange for volunteering but I have not done it since 2019 4CC.

A friend of mine I met at Worlds in Montpellier and I are going together but she'll have her car! Maybe we can be chauffeurs.
I emailed SCOB the day it was announced to ask about volunteering as well. I volunteered at Worlds 2016. Didn't get a reply at all so thinking I will just buy the tickets since they're almost sold out (& i'm not surprised. SOI in Boston - bigger arena - practically sold out within a couple of weeks even with 2 other shows in CT/RI).

The SCOB site says events start at 8AM? Is that accurate for SA? I'm surprised if that is the case on the East Coast (I would not be in Vegas to get better TV time). That will create major traffic snarls with rush hour so I'm surprised they wouldn't wait even an hour longer.
Has anyone heard if this is the case or the reasoning behind this?

Practices are usually early in the day, then the competition events after. I assume these are all event tickets so the practices are included.

I doubt that competition begins at 8 AM, but practices probably do. During the Cranberry Open one was able to watch them in the second rink. I believe that all tickets permit access all day.
