Yes, I'm sure. As much as they want to "separate" themselves, it's not that it was the whole other event which just "happened" to be at that arena at the same day and they had no connection to it whatsoever.
And, yes, I read that journalist's posts (before they were deleted apparently - and btw I think I know why, someone
wrote under one of his posts that she will "report" him to his bosses; in two last weeks culture of reporting to authorities got back to 1937 in russia now, speed of their descend to hell is mind blowing).
Also, I read posts from some other journalists. Also, reports from the show.
One of the posts RU journo wrote about this show totally blew my mind yesterday (although not sure why I'm still surprised?!?! WHY?! As if any of them had balls to write anything on February 24th when it was, just to remind you, still "allowed").
So,
his post (there is more, this is just small quote):
"Of course, in this time everyone reacts to symbolics with patriotic subtext (euphemism to RU swastika which was used) like the bull to bullfighter's a$$. And they have any right to react like that, because at this very time, when you read this post, national federations are voting about what will happen with russia next season, and each such concert theoretically might influence their decision to be 'ban RU fed' - and that's it"
Just to remind you that RU journos were also banned, even to get virtual accreditations, were not happy about it, and will do everything possible for this not to happen next season.
(What blew my mind was that when I was reading and saw "because at this very time, when you read this post..." I naturally continued in my mind "people are being tortured and killed in Ukraine", I was so naive to think that that was the reason some people reacted negatively to skaters' participation in that show and saw something bad in it. But, of course, that's not the case. They are just worried they will be banned next season, or maybe more seasons to come).
