Muravieva's SP
even better 3Axel that Tuktamysheva imo.

Petrosyan SP

Akatieva seem is not allowed to compete in Seniors, new rule again ?
The RUS Fed are really trying hard to Not have any spoiler on the podium, cant have a junior spoiling a seniors reputation.

Tuktamsyehva can seize this, but she still needs to beat Trusova ?, Samodelkina, Petrosyan, Muravieva and Zinina (is she allowed ?)

Let's see how Anna does at her next event. She has landed exactly one quad since the season started. If she doesn't get it consistent come Nationals - who knows.

‘Exactly’ one quad? The season just started for her and that’s with loss of training time. She is landing clean quads in practices At IDF and they look good.

What a complete waste of time for Akatieva. She travels to Perm only to find out she is not allowed to compete.
Looks like they are shutting her out from senior Nationals as well.
They really dont want her to spoil the podium, its an Olympics season
imagine Trusova or Tuktamsyehva missing a podium , maybe they think it will damage their reputation.

Zinina didn't show up for this senior stage 5 so she will not qualify for senior nationals. However, we still don't know if Zhilina can compete at JGPF, so if Zinina steps in for her, she qualifies for Nats anyway.

I found some clips on Reddit. Sounds like Palladio (Debeers commercial music) but not for sure. Definitely different cuts than what’s in the commercials but very similar.

There is something going on in Russia. The 3Lz+2T combo epidemic. Anna did it in Italy. Today both Maiia and Adelia did it. I hope tomorrow will break the 2T curse...

Figure skating is a sport that has an aesthetic aspect to it, and so thing like the costume worn by the skater are important to the overall impression of the program.
Yes I know! But it's not the aesthetics I'm looking for, so, still irrelevant to me...🤣

What is it that you`re looking for then?
I like performance, fire, emotion. The skater manages to emote something so I can feel something. There is an aesthetic beauty in that. The dress for me is usually just superficial props.

The best way to explain it would be to re-visit my favourite program from last season.
Maria IS Maleficent. And it is just magnificent.
But to each their own. I'm sure this is not everybody's cup of tea.

Kwan had a stress fracture of her foot. I don't know any high level skater without injury. Or any other athlete for that matter
Yeah I agree most high level athletes risk injury, my brother as a high performance football (soccer) player was always on crutches from ages 14-18. The skaters are athletes after all.

Except Trusova defies that premise that they are all starving. have you seen her muscle definition? Have you seen video of her one-handed pull up? Muscles. The workout regimen of the Sambo 70 skaters is intense. Sasha's issues this year is she got taller which changes the center of balance. But, clearly she's made the adjustment per the test skate. She then had a stress fracture of her foot. They happen to a lot of high level skaters
Except muscle definition and the ability to do a one handed pull-up doesn't equate to being physically healthy or having healthy eating habits. Shawn Johnson who was ripped during the 2008 Olympics, has talked extensively about her own eating disorder during this time. I think it was Kimmie Meisner who said something about living off of rabbit food and water during her skating career. I could name drop quite a few other athletes who were seemingly muscular and physically "fit" who eventually revealed their own struggles with eating disorders.

Not saying this is what is happening with Eteri's group or Trusova, but when you skate in a ice rink with countless skaters, some of who are younger, thinner, and can rotate just as much as you(if not more than you), the mental and physical pressures to succeed can force some to extreme measures. Especially if your livelihood and that of your family is dependent on your success.

This isn't just true for THIS group but with skating in general, across all disciplines.

It's amazing what your body can sustain itself on and for how long. Eventually though, it does give in and bones start to fracture and break. Performances start to suffer...

Can't believe I am posting in here :p

Morozova is one lucky girl.
Ouch for Gulyakova and Molchanova.

Is this some combination of ranking at the individual event and total points scored?

Im confused now, does this mean Akiatieva will still be able to skate at nationals ?

also Usacheva wont be able to skate, so Guliakova will fill in the spot ?

It's the most outrageous thing since by nationals Sofia will be almost 14 and a 1/2 years old. Adelina Sotnikova won senior Russian nationals when she was only 12 and that wasn't exactly 40 years ago.

Alysa Liu won senior US nationals by 13. 13! Where was the outrage? Poor Sofia she must be bored out of her mind. Then when they raise the age limit after the Olympics she's really going to be screwed unless she's grandfathered in.

Zagitova competed at senior Russian nationals when she was 14 Gubanova maybe when she was 13 definitely by 14. I don't get the point about protecting the older girls. 3A went to senior nationals a couple years ago and beat Alina and everybody down big time. It was amazing! Maybe that's the reason they don't want SA in this competition.

Poor Guliakova. I thought she was so promising 2 or 3 years ago especially for especially for a tall girl. What happened?

Are they definitely going to raise the age limit after the 2022 Olympics, or is this just a desire of some fans who think raising the age limit will keep the Russian women from winning? They could be disappointed.

Didn't Mirai Nagasu win the US nationals at age 13? Or was she 14?

Tara Lipinski won the US Nationals at age 14.

I don't remember any outrage about that.
