Wow, Russian JGP for pairs in Kosice!
Mukhortova/Evgenyev versus Akhanteva/Kolesov versus Kostiukovich/Briukhanov. Considering that their junior pair number one (Artemeva/Nazarychev) moved to seniors, why not put their pair number 2, number 3 and number 4 to one JGP event, to see who is the weakest link.

And Petrosian against Zhilina! Having Tutberidze against Pluschenko again!

Russian Junior TEST skates started today

here is the Ice Dance Juniors SP

shattered, Angelopol will probably find a new partner soon, Kaganovskaya grew so much
boy if you were just a bit more taller like Bukin... his talent just cannot go to waste , but so few girls on his level.
I hope things are not so dire. The russian girls have a real challenge as their boys tend to be short and compact or medium height and slim. Hopefully he'll be like Scott Moir make the necessary changes ...well, we'll see.

I dont get it too, the russian ice dance ladies seem to be always taller or just grow all of a sudden.
I think they should set a quota for men , that he should be about 6'3 to be able to skate elite just so the girl wont outgrow the boy.

Angelopol may not be tall but he is not particularly small. As he grows, he will "fill up" by God's Grace

Angelopol is turning 18 while Kaganovskaya is 15
Girls hit puberty until 18, and she is almost as tall as he is when they skate.

She will grow like Stepanova, it happens all the time.
Most Baltic and russian girls seem to grow tall and slender by genetics.

Wasnt it previously mentioned there is a different format this season of going to grand prix finals ?

is it also the same for the seniors ?

No Russians in the French JGPs
Today's press release "On the non-participation of Russian figure skaters in the first and second stages of the ISU Grand Prix series among juniors in Courchevel (France)":

2 additional Russian men, women & dance teams have been added to JGP #3 in Slovakia: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...-prix-announcement.107694/page-3#post-6034505

Was there Pairs event in one of the two France JGP ?
No, there's only 1 rink in Courchevel. The 4 JGPs with pairs are #3 SVK, #4 RUS, #6 POL (took over the pairs event originally scheduled for CAN) and #7 AUT.

ETA:

Article recapping the junior men test skate highlights in Novogorsk (Mark Kondratyuk, Artem Kovalev, Gleb Lutfullin):

I honestly don't understand what the strategy is for them anymore, 95% of the program is identical to their Writing On The Wall FS, the layout is the same, the lifts are the same, the transitions are the same and there's no interpretation of the theme at all. For such a promising team this is extremely weird.

Her throw landings are getting worse not better ?
The program lacks magic at the moment. Hopefully that can be fixed…

It's weird that a country with Russia's incredible pairs tradition doesn't have more options for pairs teams in terms of coaching. I know this is blasphemous... sorry guys... but I wonder if B/K need a different coach. I looooooove Moskvina but she is of a different generation and I wonder if she is using a template that has worked in the past but is failing B/K now. It feels like something has broken down for them.

I think if this season if it heads south for B/K
they will part ways with Moskvina

wasn't there never ending rumor of them leaving Moskvina
until they had to make a press conference.

Moskvina is a great coach but no one is perfect. Not sure why this pair is going in the opposite direction. It may be too early to talk of parting ways though. This is a long season.

For sure, I'm not suggesting they leave Moskvina. I just wish there were more options in general and wonder about the future post-Olympics when a lot of shake-ups tend to happen.
