Exactly - charitable activities are what royals do, and Kate, William and Harry have had mental health as a priority for some time (notably, through Heads Together).

I still hope that one day Kate will have a princess tea party like Princess Madeleine did a few years back. That would be spectacular.

I just realized what this reminded me of. It's Mr. Collins's proposal to Elizabeth Bennet:

Not only that, I am fairly sure Kate sometimes has independent ideas. She is not always honouring Diana or being inspired by someone. I suspect that she is smart enough to actually work with her charities to develop plans that are totally new and different from what has been done before. Her Back to Nature garden was, IMHO, an inspired idea.
 
Totally! I don't get why every little thing needs to be inspired by or honouring or an homage or a secret message. Kate and William (and Meghan and Harry) are educated adults with lives of their own before all this, including friends and families and colleagues and who knows what else they've read or seen in the news or whatever has touched them in some way that we'll never know.

Or if someone else came to them with a good idea and they went for it - people must pitch ideas all the time in the hopes that they will get a royal or other celebrity on board to help raise awareness and funds to get their projects to fruition.
 
I truly don't see Kate and William being influenced by anything nor do I see Meghan and Harry being influenced by anything. I see them doing their own thing, and so far, have had pretty fair judgment of doing just that IMO.

Exactly - I didn't want to imply that Kate and Wills don't have any independent ideas. I was responding to a post by a poster who seems to think the BRF just sat in their gilded palaces until Meghan came along and inspired them to get out and do charitable things :rolleyes:

William has certainly taken some of his Mothers causes and made them his own as well as developed ones of his own. And yes Kate has certainly owned her early development in children causes and uses nature and photography to help further her causes.

And interestingly in the Mary Berry Christmas show William made it clear how it was Kate who helped to join the dots and inspire and drive the mental health initiatives.

So I do believe they have been inspired by the previous generations but are definitely forging their own paths and have been for many years.

There is reporting that Harry, Meghan, and Archie will be spending Christmas in Canada. Their exact location has not been released although I suspect they are probably somewhere in Ontario. Meghan would have friends who have cottages where they would be able to have the privacy they want and the space for their security details and Doria.

I sure hope their security officers don’t have young families back in Britain although I suppose they will fly in new officers so they aren’t away for the entire holiday season.
 
So I noticed in the photo of the Cambridge’s arriving at BP for the Christmas lunch, that William and Kate arrived separately. I assumed, it seems correctly, that William and George must have had a previous engagement and so it made sense to take two cars. I find it funny how apparently some assumed this was a sign of trouble in paradise. I guess if wearing blue is a sign of a tribute to Diana then something as innocuous as taking two cars must be a sign of pending divorce!

 
They all left together. There was such a fuss that it has been announced that William and George had to be there early for a "special project" that will be made known in a couple of months. My guess is that they did a new photo of the Queen and her three direct heirs.

And, of course, the divorce talk was started on social media by the Meghan stans, particularly the ones who call themselves the " #SussexSquad". They do her no favors with their ridiculous behavior.

I had a few minutes to spare whilst cooking tea and had a google of '#SussexSquad'!! Ye Gods - I need to go and have a hot shower now as I feel totally sullied by the utter bile they write. How can people write such horrible stuff :confused::eek:

They show up commenting on most royal related accounts on social media. They are absolutely vile and often literally post death wishes for William and his children. And, of course, claim that anything Meghan has done is the first time it has ever been done and all the other members of the family are copying her when they are just going about business as usual. Their response to the pics & project with the Queen, Charles, William and George and the Cambridges show with Mary Berry is that they are stealing poor, poor Meghan's trademark of cooking appearances. Never mind that you can find years worth of BRF members doing cooking related things at appearances. It's so over the top.
